Time for me to say goodnight, and I can't think of a better way to do it than with a tribute to John F. Kennedy.

@Letty,
Miss Letty

I've been out of synch for over a week, and I know this does not fit well either, but...

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, that was one powerful speech by Kennedy. Do you suppose his allusion to the Free Masons was the one that got him killed? Hmmm. I recall the movie, In the Line of Fire.

Hey, Rock. Great song, buddy. Ah, The Cult of Personality. Never heard it, but I agree with the title, and the group was great. Thanks, Kansas.

Today is Hoagy Carmichael's birthday, folks, and I feel that he was underated for his great contribution to music.

Wrote the lyrics to this great song, so let's begin the day with Ray.

Hoagy was one great artist. Along with Georgia on my Mind, there is Stardust.

Another favorite of mine is Buttermilk Sky.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, yes, edgar. Had forgotten Buttermilk Sky.

As Bud once noted, the verse to Stardust is the best part, folks.

And now the purple dusk of twilight time
Steals across the meadows of my heart
High up in the sky the little stars climb
Always reminding me that we're apart

You wander down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday
The music of the years gone by

Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely night dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration
But that was long ago
Now my consolation
Is in the stardust of a song

Beside a garden wall
When stars are bright
You are in my arms
The nightingale tells his fairy tale
of paradise where roses grew
Though I dream in vain
In my heart it will remain
My stardust melody
The memory of love's refrain

@edgarblythe,
Hey, Texas, thanks for the info on Stardust and the lyrics. Nat did a good job on the entire song, methinks.

Here's another by Hoagy as done by George.

Incidentally, y'all. The dog kicking the soccer ball is fine, just not on line much.

Also, the Hawaiian turtle is okay as well. Just doing a lot of trivia.

Back later to acknowledge each contribution, but first a drinking song from Mario.
