Good night, Dear Izzie, and Fields of Gold is beautiful. Thanks, honey. I'm concerned about the blue puppy as well.

dj, Kate covered 'em all, and yes, God save them all. I know where time goes, however.

Hard to believe that such a wonderful talent as Nick Drake died so young. It is as JPB noted. Creative people don't do well in this world.

Eva Cassidy dead at 33 and Nick dead at 26. Thanks, Canada, for the background and the beautiful music.

Well, time for me to say goodnight, and I think I'll do so with a song by someone who is still with us.

In spite of all the bad times the good times are still there.

Goodnight to all,

From Letty with love

@OmSigDAVID,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

David, I would in a heartbeat, but I think that she has other interests at the moment.

Today we have two folks to celebrate, y'all.

First Rene, then Goldie

Good morrow, ladies, gents. It's a jackets-all-day kind of day out there. The good news: It's Friday. Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving Day Parade. That means I will be starting my annual Christmas threads in the evening, after. With the voting down feature, it will be interesting to see how they fare. Some people grouse a lot, but the viewing of them has always been very high. It's a shot in the dark.

Speaking of shots, I saw a news story yesterday, of a man on his riding mower, in the path of a stray bullet. He felt an impact in his chest, but was not seriously injured. The cellphone in the pocket near his heart had the bullet lodged in it.

@alex240101,
Hey, alex. Wow! that song by Robby Robertson was a great way to start the day. Very sensual and I loved it. Thanks, buddy.

Well, folks, Thanksgiving will be the anniversary of my daddy's demise. I've been looking for this song for a long time. Here is the jazz version, replete with lyrics, folks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQVVLAO-9LU

everyone knows him as "old folks"
like the seasons, he'll come and he'll go
just as free as a bird, and as good as his word
that's why everybody loves him so

always leaving his spoon in his coffee
tucks his napkin up under his chin
and his yellow corn pipe, it's so mellow it's ripe
but you needn't be ashamed of him

every friday he'll go fishin'
way down on buzzard's bay
but he only hooks a perch or two
"a whale got away..."
and so we warm up the steak

can't quite understand about old folks
did he fight for the blue or the gray?
'cause he's so diplomatic, so democratic
we always let him have his way.

every evenin,' right after supper,
what stories he would tell
how he held the speech at gettysberg for lincoln that day
...I know that one so well

someday there'll be no more old folks
what a lonely old world this'll be
children's voices at play
will be still for a day
the day that they take old folks
away

She's new to me, but I like her. Thought I would shift the focus to this by Waylon Jennings. I have read that but for a flip of a coin he would have gotten on Buddy Holly's plane that fateful night.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Loved that one, edgar. Reminds me of Willie Nelson.

Here's a surprise, Roy Clark doing his thing with a Spainish guitar.

Missed your Piggies song by John Lennon, edgar. Delightful and one that I had never heard.

Do you recall when Richard Nixon tried to deport John Lennon? Well this was the reply by Neil Sedaka.

Hugs to you dear Izzie. Your Neil Diamond song reminded me that tomorrow is the anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Here's another by Neil, y'all
