@edgarblythe,
Hmmm. Engelbert Humperdinck did that one as well, edgar. Had no idea he was from Madras India.

Noticed that Elvis also did "It's Now or Never" and that leads me to my very favoite tenor. Guess who, y'all.

I like Caruso as well, letty. I also like Charlie Rich. Here he is with his Elusive Dreams.

@edgarblythe,
Hey Letty, Edgar, Raggedy et al

Letty... spent the evening with my wonderful Godmother.... 96 years old... she hasn't changed much from a few years ago a? Driving, walking around, travelling around. Truly amazing lady.

It was so good to see her.

How happy is she a?

Izzie, methinks that your godmother has been here:

http://pix.epodunk.com/FL/fl_saint_augustine01.jpg

That's in St. Agustine, Fl.

edgar, I really like "the silver fox", thanks for that song, Texas. Glad that we share an appreciation for Enrico, but we share it with Al Capone as well. UhOh!

Time for me to call it a day, and I can' t think of a better vocalist to do it for me, y'all.

Sarah Vaughn has a unique voice and style. This is one from my late teen years.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, I love Ricky Nelson, especially his "Travelin' Man" and "Garden Party".

Sarah Vaughn was my older sister's favorite vocalist, Texas, and she claimed that Sister Rosetta Tharpe was Sarah's sister; however, I cannot verify that.

TCM featured two oldies. Citizen Kane and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Did not know that Kane's palace was called Xanadu. Wow! Is that coincidence or synchronicity?

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

A clip from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, folks.

He may have had the Drifters with him here. Not certain.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar. Clyde McPhatter is sooooo right, but it has to be the right kind of love.

Well, folks, it seems that today is "Weird" Al Yankovic's birthday, and I really got a smile out of this song.

I done voted. I don't need to hear another thing but the results. Here is something silly. But I give it a ten because you can dance to it.

@edgarblythe,
A jayhawk in a jungle. Love it, edgar, and yes we all need to dance to the music once in awhile.

Perfect timing, folks, 'cause today is Michael Crichton's birthday. I think I have read almost all of his books

Here is a theme from the movie CONGO and a clip from the movies adapted from his books.

@edgarblythe,
That gave us a smile, edgar. Lord, how many times I did that same thing.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I shall do so with a wonderful jazz ballad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3CdR3M0VII&feature=related

and the lyrics

If I should lose you
The stars would fall from the sky
If I should lose you
Leaves would wither and die

The birds in May-time -would sing a mournful refrain
And I would wander around - hating the sound of rain

With you beside me
The rose would bloom in the snow
With you beside me
No winds of winter would blow

I gave you my love - and I was living a dream
But living would seem - in vain if I
lost you

Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K and edgar. Razz

Loved Who Shot Sam and Bobby's bridge, Texas. Thanks.

Well, we closed last evening with a jazz ballad, so here's another since it J.J. Johnson's birthday.

Don't know where our animals are hiding, folks. Perhaps Dr. Dolittle has the answer.

Did I just hear a puppy say bow wow?

Welcome back Raggedy, and thanks for the great montage of notables.
