Good morning, WA2K radio.

Today is Chuck Berry's birthday, so here is one by him.

Guess it's FM radio day on this lovely Saturday.

@edgarblythe,
The Duck Walk by Chuck was great, edgar, and the lovely song by Erin Hay was one that I have never heard. Thanks, Texas. (turns dial back to AM radio)

Today is also George C. Scott's birthday. First saw him in The Hustler and he was a baaaaddddd guy.

However, folks, since this is halloween month, the most terrifying movie that I have ever seen was, The Changeling starring George C.

Here is a brief idea of the movie.

And the music box theme that was soooo eerie.

Need to do more research on the plot, folks.

Of course, to many people, Scott's Patton is the perfect performance, in a perfect movie.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, I think everyone remembers that famous opening. Scott was a great actor.

I recall this one as well. Patton believed himself to be a reincarnation of the Spartan warrior.

Old Blood and Guts did help rescue the Royal Lipizzaners , famous for their airs above the ground. Not certain if that particular event was in the movie, however.

Have you seen Hardcore? Here is a scene where Scott plays a man who has discovered his daughter made porno films.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I cannot believe how many movies that George made come to life. I just checked out the list, and I was amazed, Texas. Didn't see Hardcore, however. He did one about dolphins as well, but I will have to check that out. Had something to do with the military strapping explosives to the beautiful mammals and using them as torpedos to blow up enemy ships. Crying or Very sad

Little change of pace, folks, as I couldn't resist letting McTag know that "the trail of the lonesome pine was a Virginia song and not indigenous to Yosemite National Park.

Funny, funny, funny.

@edgarblythe,
I've spent a lot of time researching today, and I did find this about George and the dolphins.

A brilliant and driven scientist, Jake Terrell, and his wife, Maggie, train dolphins to communicate with humans. This is done by teaching the dolphins to literally speak English in dolphin-like voices. Two of his dolphins, Alpha ("Fa") and Beta ("Be") are stolen by officials of the shadowy Franklin Institute headed by Harold DeMilo, the backer of the Terrells' research. An investigation by an undercover government agent, Curtis Mahoney, reveals that Institute is further training the dolphins to carry out a political assassination using a limpet mine against the yacht of the President of the United States.

At the end of the movie, I think he told them to leave. As I recall, it was heart breaking.

A perfect goodnight song from the movie.

Thank you, Texas, for helping me to keep our wee cyber radio station on the air.

Tomorrow, all.

@Letty,
I am a lifelong fan of Laurel and Hardy. Of the old time comics, they are my favorites.

The dolphin thing is so familiar, I want to say I have seen it, but possibly not.

Bob Dylan, from the Saved album. For three years, his songs had a religious theme.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio and edgar.

There was a period of time when the "Jesus Movement" was prevalent among the musicians, and I guess Bob was no exception. Thanks for that song by The Jester, and here is another example by The Doobie Brothers.

@edgarblythe,
Loved the Jerry Lee song, edgar. Hard not to like that Lewis man. Thanks.

Don't know Carl Mann, but I do know that Nat Cole did that one as well.

Here's one that I came across by accident, and I love it.

a small bit about the Irish lady:

Bob Dylan tribute performance
Two weeks after the infamous Saturday Night Live appearance, she was set to perform "I Believe in You" at the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary tribute concert in Madison Square Garden. She was greeted by a thundering mixture of cheers and jeers. During the booing, Kris Kristofferson told her not to "let the bastards get you down," to which she replied, "I'm not down." The noise eventually became so loud that O'Connor saw no point in starting the scheduled song. She called for the keyboard player to stop and the microphone to be turned up, and then screamed over the audience with an improvised, shouted rendition of "War". This time, she sang the song, stopping just after the part in which the lyrics talk about child abuse, emphasizing the point of her previous infamous action. She then looked straight to the audience for a second and left the stage. Kristofferson then comforted her, as she cried

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Why were people in the audience booing her? Was it because of her stance on war? Weird!

Been having some trouble with the equipment in our studio, so it's taken a while to get it straight.

Here's a great one, edgar. Love this song.

edgar, I missed that about the pope, I guess.

Reyn, You are such a dear. Love that picture, Canada. Speaking of the pope, here is a Gregorian chant that is a total surprise to me. I fear for smokingun, Kieran. Heard nothing from him for a while.

This is for him and all Roman Catholics on A2K.
