@Letty,
Pee Wee has been in trouble a few times. Word is, he has a new film in the works, titled Pee Wee's Playhouse, after theTV show he did.

@Letty,
Hey, folks, just noticed that Barbara Bach starred in a James Bond movie, and I love the theme from that one.

Quote:
Izzie, welcome back. I do hope you enjoyed your Kansas get-away. Incidentally, hun. Where is JPB?

I'm here -- mostly buried under a pile of work and putting out fires for those who are yelling. It's good to be home but I wouldn't have traded last weekend's visit for the world.

This Apocolyptica song is perfect for describing my feelings about the time I spent with my A2K friends this past weekend.

@JPB,
JPB, were all of those strings cello's? I thought that I heard a contra bass in that haunting song. Fabulous, gal. Our listeners need to hear that one again and thanks.

Oops, I missed edgar's explanation of Pee Wee's remake.

He'll know this one, I'll bet.

@Letty,
Sure, I know Looking For Love. I have watched that movie at least three times. I did a thread not long ago, about how Mickey Gilley's son is opening a new Gilley's, near Magnolia, TX. It will have some items from the original place, including I think, the mechanical bull.

@Letty,
Yes -- all string cellos. They use additional instrumentation in their live shows but I enjoy listening to just the four of them. What's interesting is that they're primarily a head-banger group (another reason my cellist daughter loves them). I was introduced to them when 2-packs posted this song on my classical thread (another mellow one...)

@edgarblythe,
For JPB. Well, gal, they are far better than Metallica, but I understand your daughter's fascination with them. I love the cello, especially Pablo Cassals. Nice combination of genres.

For edgar. Hee, hee. Saw that movie, Texas, and do recall your having said that Mickey Gilley, Jr. was doing it all over. I want to get up and dance when I hear, "You're the One That I Want", but I don't think that I would do the mechanical bull.

Speaking of bull, y'all, how about his companion with another dance that is so exotic

JPB have you seen this clip with Yo-Yo Ma? He looks like he's having such a great time.

I had a hard time finding this thread, just now. It no longer appears in My Posts, at least for now.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I don't remember Hank's "Heaven" song , but I know the heavens are raging here. Thanks, Texas.(had a wee problem myself)

firefly, I listened to Yo Yo. He is good, truly. Thanks.

Time for me to say good night, and I cannot think of a better nocturne than this one by Pablo (Pau) Casals and composed by Chopin.

@Letty,
Hope you stay safe and dry, Letty.

I'm saying good night with Billy Joel, sort of in a plaintive mood.

That song's one of my all-time favorites, firefly. Thanks for letting me hear it once again. (Maybe twice.)

I'm glad I finally found this thread!

@Eva,
Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Eva, I'm glad that you found it as well. Stay tuned gal, we have missed you here.

firefly, love Billy Joel and thanks,dear.

Well, the lights went out briefly here, so now that our electrician has things fixed, we are back on the air.

Well, folks, firefly was in a plaintive mood, and your PD is in a sentimental one this morning, so how about one by the Duke. This one is also a piano lesson.

@Letty,
Good morning, letty and all. Note to reyn: By all means keep posting here.
It has been raining here every day for the greater part of a week. We don't have the winds Florida is getting, but I am getting tired of it, though we have had a long dry summer.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, edgar. I never hear the Serendipity Singers that I don't think of the experiment that was done by Harlowe & Harlowe. I think that must be where I got the idea of the notion that there are only two emotions- love and fear. Thanks, Texas.

Today is the Count's birthday, all, so let's another great jazz man.

Big Joe Turner performed with the Count for a bit. I couldn't find a recording of them together, but here isJoe on his own.
