Thanks, edgar. I'll remember that next time. Just a bit stressed out tonight, folks.

It seems to be all right, now.

Goodnight, all.

I dunno about all that, I am home with my olde mac now.

Re this morning's indictment/credit by me of Monger, I was just suspicious, I don't know that Monger is behind the tiddlywinks here today on this fine April first.

Weather here, gonna rain.

Going, gone

I've just reached a place
Where the willow don't bend.
There's not much more to be said
It's the top of the end.
I'm going,
I'm going,
I'm gone.

I'm closin' the book
On the pages and the text
And I don't really care
What happens next.
I'm just going,
I'm going,
I'm gone.

I been hangin' on threads,
I been playin' it straight,
Now, I've just got to cut loose
Before it gets late.
So I'm going,
I'm going,
I'm gone.

Grandma said, "Boy, go and follow your heart
And you'll be fine at the end of the line.
All that's gold isn't meant to shine.
Don't you and your one true love ever part."

I been walkin' the road,
I been livin' on the edge,
Now, I've just got to go
Before I get to the ledge.
So I'm going,
I'm just going,
I'm gone.

Sixteen Tons Tennessee Ernie Ford
Girl You'll be a Woman Soon Neil Diamond
Summerwind Frank Sinatra
In Dreams Roy Orbison
Suspicious Minds Elvis Presley

How's that? Looks good. Fine. They won't think I came home plastered. Oh yes they will. Yeah. You're right they will. Do you care? Naw!.Go to bed. Ok.

I'm here! Good morning listeners. Rain. What a soggy ante meridien this is. Won't be a lot of smiles today. What'll put a smile on your face? Love? Let's try it. How about Neil Diamond?

ONE GOOD LOVE
Words and Music by Neil Diamond and Gary Nicholson

It took a while for me to know
What I was looking for.
And ev'ry heart I've ever known
Just left me wanting more.
One good love can turn it all around,
Take hold of a restless heart
And lead it back to solid ground.
You can search the world for happiness
And never get enough,
When all you really need to find
Is one good love.

I followed all life's pleasures
Wherever they would lead.
But someone I can treasure
Is all I really need.
One good love can turn it all around,
take hold of a restless heart
And lead it back to solid ground.
One good love can take you to the light.
With just one touch you can forget
A thousand empty nights.

You can search the world for happiness
And never get enough,
When all you really need to find
Is one good love.
You can search the world for happiness
And never get enough,
When all you really need to find
Is one good love, one good love.

Good lord, that spring bird, bobsmythhawk, doesn't seem to need a lot of sleep.

Last one out of the station at night, and first one back on air!

Allergies have knocked out my voice, so I'm going to spinning more platters and talking less. No one wants to hear my dying bullfrog imitation. No one.

Multiplication - Bobby Darin

When you see a gentleman bee
Round a lady bee buzzin'
Just count to ten then count again
There's sure to be an even dozen.

Multiplication
That's the name of the game
And each generation
They play the same.

Now, there was two butterflies castin' their eyes
Both in the same direction
You'd never guess that one little yes
Could start a butterfly collection.

Multiplication
That's the name of the game
And each generation
They play the same.

Let me tell ya now …

I say one and one is five
You can call me a silly goat
But, ya take two minks add two winks
Ahhh … ya got one mink coat.

When a girl gets coy in front of a boy
After three or four dances
Ah … you can just bet she'll play hard to get
To multiply her chances.

Multiplication
That's the name of the game
And each generation
You know they play the same.

Hear me talkin' to ya …

Mother Nature's a clever girl
She relies on habit
Ya take two hares with no cares
Pretty soon you got a room full of rabbits.

Parakeets in-between tweets
Sometimes get too quiet
Uh-oh … but, have no fear 'cause soon you'll hear
A parakeet's riot just try it.

Multiplication
That's the name of the game
And every generation
You know they play the same.

Yes ... it's multiplication
That's the name of the game
And each generation
They play the same.

Eighteen yellow roses came today
Eighteen yellow roses in a pretty bouquet
When the boy came to the door
I didn't know what to say
But, eighteen yellow roses came today.

I opened up the card to see what it said
I couldn't believe my eyes
When I had read
Though you belong to another I love you anyway
Yes, eighteen yellow roses came today.

I never doubted your love for a minute
I always thought that you would be true
But now this box and the flowers in it
I guess there's nothin' left for me to do.

But ask to meet the boy that's done this thing
And find out if he's got plans to buy you a ring
'cause eighteen yellow roses
Will wilt and die one day ...

But … a father's love will never fade away
Will never fade away …

If I were a carpenter

And you were a lady

Would you marry me anyway

And have my baby?

If a tinker were my trade

Would you still find me

Carryin' the pots I made

Followin' behind me?

Save my love through loneliness

Save my love through sorrows

I've given you my onliness

Give me your tomorrows.

If I worked my hands in wood

Would you still love me?

Answer me, babe, "Yes, I would.

I would put you above me."

If I were a miller … yeah …

At a mill wheel grindin'

Would you miss your colored blouse

Little girl, your soft shoe shinin'?

If I were a carpenter

And you were a lady

Would you marry me anyway

And you have my baby?

Would you marry me anyway

And have my baby?

Hey George my pal. As a matter of fact I was in the local tabloid with picture (there's courage) singing at The Beachfront in Hull. I'm there every Friday from 9:00 to 12:30. Sometimes on Saturday I'll go to the Medway Lotus in Medway from 8:00 to 12:00. Why Medway? One of my many nieces Liz is in charge of the karaoke there.

It was mentioned that I sleep very little. True. For most of my life approximately 5 to 6 hours is plenty. If I feel I need more I can do it. But I guage myself to be alert for signs of fatigue due to lack of sleep and it just doesn't happen.

Good morning, WA2K.

I know that all of our listeners enjoyed the music and techie advice concerning last evening's fireworks. I think our night hawk missed most of the changing festivities, as he was belting 'em out at the Karaoke club.

Thanks to all for the delightful songs and memories.

On a personal note, Bob. In the small coal mining town where I taught, they have a company store, and the entire town is quite historic. Right now, they are in the process of restoring it to it's former state as a tourist attraction.

Interesting, George, that you should mention LaTrobe, Pa. My good friend and her husband worked for American Cyanamid (sp) and one of its subsidararies, Abbot Laboratories. At the time, I think they were home based in LaTrobe. They also bottle Rolling Rock beer.

Song for the morning:

AIN'T GOIN' DOWN ('TIL THE SUN COMES UP) GARTH BROOKS IN PIECES
--------
Six o'clock on Friday evening
Momma doesn't know she's leaving
'Til she hears the screen door slamming
Rubber squealin', gears a-jamming
Local country station just a blaring on the radio
Pick him up at seven and they're hoddin' to the rodeo
Momma's on the front porch screamin' out her warning
Girl you better get your red head
Back in bed before the morning

Nine o'clock the show is ending
But the fun is just beginning
She knows he's anticipating
But she's goanna keep him waiting
Grab a bite to eat
And then they're heading to the honkey-tonk
But loud crowds and line dancing
Just ain't what they really want
Drive out to the boondocks and park down by the creek
And where it's George Strait 'til real late
And dancing cheek to cheek

Ain't going down 'til the sun comes up
Ain't given' in 'til they get enough
Going 'round the world in a pickup truck
Ain't COIN' down 'til the sun comes up

Ten 'til twelve is wine and dancing
Midnight starts the hard romancing
One o'clock that truck is rocking
Two is coming, there's still no stopping
Break to check the clock at three
They're right on where they want to be
Four o'clock get up and going
Five o'clock that rooster's crowing

Ain't going down 'til the sun comes up
Ain't given' in 'til they get enough
Going 'round the world in a pickup truck
Ain't COIN' down 'til the sun comes up

Six o'clock on Saturday
Her folks don't know he's on his way
The stalls are clean, the horses fed
They say she's grounded 'til she's dead
Well here he comes around the bend
Slowing down, she's jumping in
Hey mom, you're daughter's gone
And there they go again

Ain't COIN' down 'til the sun comes up
Ain't given' in 'til they get enough
COIN' 'round the world in a pickup truck
Ain't COIN' down 'til the sun comes up.

Later, all.

Yeah, sing the song, Bro'

If the sun refuse to shine,
I don't mind, I don't mind,
If the mountains fell in the sea,
let it be, it ain't me.
Alright, 'cos I got my own world to look through,
And I ain't gonna copy you.

Now if 6 turned out to be 9,
I don't mind, I don't mind,
Alright, if all the hippies cut off all their hair,
I don't care, I don't care.
Dig, 'cos I got my own world to live through
And I ain't gonna copy you.

White collared conservative flashing down the street,

Pointing their plastic finger at me.
They're hoping soon my kind will drop and die,
But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high, high.
Wave on, wave on
Fall mountains, just don't fall on me
Go ahead on Mr. Business man, you can't dress like me.
Sing on Brother, play on drummer.

dys, I like that song, especially the line which talks about white collar conservatives pointing a plastic finger at me.

edgar, that carpenter song is a winner--the lady and the tramp sorta thing.

and this song is dedicated to someone I used to know:

England Dan lyrics

I'd Really Love to See You Tonight
England Dan & John Ford Coley

Hello, yeah, it's been a while.
Not much, how 'bout you?
I'm not sure why I called,
I guess I really just wanted to talk to you.
And I was thinking maybe later on,
We could get together for a while.
It's been such a long time,
And I really do miss your smile.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing,

The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight.

We could go walking through a windy park,
Or take a drive along the beach.
Or stay at home and watch t.v.
You see, it really doesn't matter much to me.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing,
The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight.

I won't ask for promises,
So you won't have to lie.
We've both played that game before,
Say I love you, then say goodbye.

I'm not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing,
The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight.

In a weather related mood along with a bit of protest, here is Sunshine:

Sunshine
by Jonathan Edwards

Sunshine go away today,
I don't feel much like dancin'
Some man's gone, he's tried to run my life
Don't know what he's askin'

He tells me I'd better get in line
Can't hear what he's sayin'
When I grow up, I'm gonna make it mine
These ain't dues I been payin'

How much does it cost? I'll buy it.
The time is all we've lost. I'll try it.
He can't even run his own life,
I'll be damned if he'll run mine
Sunshine

Sunshine go away today,
I don't feel much like dancin'
Some man's gone, he's tried to run my life
Don't know what he's askin'

Working starts to make me wonder where
fruits of what I do are going
He says in love and war all is fair
He's got cards he ain't showin'

How much does it cost? I'll buy it.
The time is all we've lost. I'll try it.
He can't even run his own life,
I'll be damned if he'll run mine
Sunshine

Sunshine come on back another day
I promise you I'll be singin'
This old world she's gonna turn around
brand new bells'll be ringin'

Diane, Thanks for the hugs, dirt and all. My friend, Cheryl, told me the same thing. She says it's therapy, and she may be on to something there, because there are nutrients in earth dirt that may be more than just psychological.

I have always thought it amusing that Jonathan Edwards may have taken his sobriquet from the same Edwards who did: "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." That was a typical song for the rebellion of youth against parents.

Of course, listeners, there was always the inverse. A father looks at his hippie son and observes:

"I know we don't communicate; it's one of the few pleasures that I have left in life." Razz

Communication can often be a problem.

An example:

Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this one!

Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping one
of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots? He
asked for help & she could see why.

Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots
still didn't want to go on. Finally, when the
2nd boot was on, she had worked up a sweat.

She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're
on the wrong feet." She looked and sure enough, they were.
It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was
putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together
they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the
right feet.

He then announced, "These aren't my boots."

She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and
scream, "Why didn't you say so?" like she wanted to. And,
once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting
boots off his little feet.

No sooner they got the boots off and he said, "They're my
brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em."

Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she
mustered up the grace and courage she had left to wrestle
the boots on his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are your
mittens?"

He said, "I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots."

Her trial starts next month . .
