Good morning. I like Satin Doll, not too crazy about Fly Like an Eagle or Tears in Heaven. It's in the 40s, temperature-wise this morning. A new record.

Morning, edgar. It seems as though the weather is misbehaving everywhere. I noticed that huge tornadoes have torn through East Virginia, and that adds another concern, as my nephews and a niece work in Richmond.

Here's a tribute to Lena Horne, folks.

She ain't no Lena, however.

Let's not forget Jean by Rod McKuen. The piano version is by Jimmy Dean and the lyrics will follow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiVYmi1k2ys

Rod McKuen

Jean, Jean, roses are red
All the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come out to the meadow, Jean

Jean, Jean, you're young and alive
Come out of your half-dreamed dream
And run, if you will, to the top of the hill
Open your arms, bonnie Jean

Till the sheep in the valley come home my way
Till the stars fall around me and find me alone
When the sun comes a-singin' I'll still be waitin'

For Jean, Jean, roses are red
And all of the leaves have gone green
While the hills are ablaze with the moon's yellow haze
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean

Jean, Jean
Jean, you're young and alive!!
Come out of your half-dreamed dream
And run, if you will to the top of the hill
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean

This is the Johnny Horton song I remember best North to Alaska

According to the weather reports it'll get down to freezing temperatures tonight, so I guess it's appropriate!

And, I like the early Drifters much better than the later Drifters. Their Fools Fall in Love is a classic.

Hey, Tai and edgar. Thanks for the music by Johnny and the doowoppers. Razz Amazing that any group can perform a classical identity theft, right? Sorta reminds me of that part of Don McLean's American Pie where his hands were clinched in silent rage. Still love that one.

Time for me to say goodnight, and we both know there is only ONE Johnny Horton so, since it's cold here as well, let heat it up with the second war for independence.

Goodnight to you all.

From Letty with love

When I was a teen, my older brother and I always tuned the radio show, Louisiana Hayride, mainly to listen to Johnny Horton. That man had a way with a song kept me listening, even if it ws a song I did not like.

Hey WA2K, is the call in line still open???

I like Johnny Horton, and always have.

My favorite was always a navy tune.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

First, we would like to welcome Rockhead back, and we thank you for Johnny's Sink the Bismark. I named my first German shepherd Ebony Von Bismark, buddy. Great one!

Dutchy, what a wonderful song. True Blue should go in dadpad's collections of "blues" and I love that video plus the Aussie accent.

Here's a morning song by The Seekers, all.
