And I say you can never hear that tango too often. Laughing

Perhaps not the music you or I would choose, but this is for you Letty:

Why Jerry Lee has it.

Hey, Eric. Where's my rose?

edgar, I have never heard that one by the world's most famous guitar man, and I certainly don't want to hear Tears in Heaven. It's too sad.

How about this one from Bette, folks.

Continuing the theme of roses, here is one not many of us have listened to before. Great graphics, also.

George Jones tells a pretty good story here. It's The Corvette Song.

First, let me say to edgar that the song from India was not only beautiful, but the woman with the cast mark was even more so. I do believe that we could get Prince Gautam to change his ways. Thanks for the loveliness of it all.

Also, Texas, loved the corvette song. Wasn't that the car that Ralph Nader said was "unsafe at any speed?"

Victor, it is always nice to hear a different version of the same song. Thanks, buddy. Now if only Conway would change his name. Razz

Here's a festival of roses, folks, by Queen.

Time for me to say goodnight, and here's one that reminds me of my daughter. That girl never slept when she was a baby. I spent more time in my rocking chair than I did climbing the stair.

Goodnight, world

Don Gibson is one of my all time favorite country artists. After a string of hits many years ago, he lost whatever it was made him a star. His later songs were not particularly good. Fortunately, a body of excellent works remains.

I am not familiar with the artist or the second song.

Hey, edgar. He is good. I recall this one, but I don't think it was originally done by Don Gibson.

Oh yeah. Don wrote it. Oh Lonesome Me, I Can't Stop Loving You, and Sweet Dreams, are his biggest songs and written by him also.

Just found out that Don dropped out of school in the second grade. Wow! That's unbelievable, Texas.

I knew that Ray Charles had done this one but it seems that Don was first.

Child Of The Fifties sung by The Statler Brothers

I grew up a child of the 50s
Learned to dance to the beat of rock and roll
Television was my friend
I Love Lucy, Rin Tin Tin
Kissed my first girl when I was 10 years old.

Took a turn for the worse in the 60s
Saw some real people die on TV
I learned love's hard cold facts
Paid my first income tax
One small step for the man I'm gonna be.

Chorus:
I'll never feel bad 'bout the times that we had
I'll never look back in regret
The heaven you gave I will treasure and save
'Cause it might be as close as I get.

The 70s were 10 years of reruns
News of Watergate was nothin' new
The Democrats got it, we fell in love again
When Elvis died, we all knew that we could too.

Now I'm facin' the most of the 80s
Old enough to run for President
It's hard to think it's me, the father of three
Oh America, I don't know where it went.

Chorus:
I'll never feel bad 'bout the times that we had
I'll never look back in regret
The heaven you gave I will treasure and save
'Cause it might be as close as I get.

The heaven you gave I will treasure and save
'Cause it might be as close as I get...

switching back to AM.

Raggedy, thanks for the great quintet of famous folks. Couldn't find one song by any of the four that were left after Rick, however.

Victor, The Statler Brothers are on of my favorite singing groups, and that was a great history in song. Thanks, buddy.

hingehead, Welcome to our wee cyber radio. Loved your Merle and Jewel "Silver Wings", Aussie. Sorta reminds me of a guy named Olen who was a WWII vet and participated on our forum. He flew both the Pacific and European theater of action, and he now wears a pair of silver wings. He earned them.

Here's one by Hank Snow, folks. Love him!

Where in the world are all of our Canadian friends.
