Thanks, BioBob for the great celeb info. Women are crafty, no? Razz

So, folks, here is one by the J.Geils band in honor of the erstwhile member, Peter Wolf. (can you believe that his name is that?)

Love Peter and the Wolf, incidentally.

That is precious, Letty.

But, I was waiting for the lyrics (which I can't find on the net.) Very Happy This is all I can remember. Could never forget that Prokofiev melody if you knew:

Dingbat the singing cat
He was so cute, but he sang flat
And oh he'd meow and meow
All the livelong day.

(Perry Como had a hit with it, as did Freddy Martin and others.)

Wow, puppy. Dingbat the singing cat? Love it, gal.

I recall that each creature in Peter and the Wolf was an instrument. The birds, of course, the flute; Grandfather, a bassoon (I think).

This is quite rare and a real treat, y'all.

Welcome back, Debacle, and that commercial was hilarious. I am glad that you enjoyed Disney and that Russian fellow, honey.

Hmmm, folks, lost my weather report and admonition to Debacle, let's see if it works now. Things might be under maintenance.

From the movie The Breakfast Club.

Simple Minds! Great, Letty. I have watched that movie a thousand times it seems. I cannot listen to that song without seeing parts of the movie...

I really like the Bratpack, urs, and I am glad that you enjoyed the song. Those guys did a great job handling it, too.

Here's one that I have always liked as well, y'all.

I liked Boy Dylan's rhythm better, however.

edgar, Letty is going to have to give it up for the night. Severe thunderstorms and such predicted.

Thanks for both your songs, Texas, and here is my quick goodnight song.

I grew up listening to Lefty's recording of that song, letty. Here's one of my top faves. It's by Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors. I stayed up most of the night watching and listening for signs of violent weather. Nothing happened, thank God.

edgar, I think the first time that I heard Long Black Veil was at a soiree in Virginia. There was a trio performing and they did it so plaintively that when the guests were leaving, I played piano and the lead guitar man and his fellow musicians and I, sang it. I have loved it ever since. I think we have discussed this before, but the song was a tribute to a priest who was killed, and a dark lady who visited Rudolph Valentino's grave.

Loved your "Baker's Field" song, Texas

Today is Freddie Printz's birthday, and I was amazed to read that the young man tried to rid himself of his Spanish accent. Such a pity, folks, when that is a liability, right?

Good day WA2K.

So glad you're safe and sound, Letty. Very Happy

A Happy 32nd to Freddie Prinze Jr.; 59th to actor Aidan Quinn; 63rd to Micky Dolenz(The Monkees) and 87th to Cyd Charisse.

Hey, edgar. Wasn't that the "Little Tramp" in a dueling contest with a Murphy bed? Love it. Thanks, Texas.

Raggedy, I feel as thought I am living in the "Windy City" today. All of the blooms from my lovely hibiscus bush are covering my lawn like a carpet of red. Thanks for the great reminder of Frankie and Johnny and Cyd and Sammy. Isn't Cyd still married to Tony Martin? The trio of famous folks is delightful, puppy.

My favorite Monkee's song, y'all.

Found this song, and it is priceless and describes my little corner of the world. The Palm trees look as though a woman with green hair is facing the West and her hair is askew from the wind.

Don't sweep up the red carpet yet, Letty. Beasley's on his way:

(Yes, as of today, Cyd and Tony are still together. Married in 1948)
