good afternoon , listeners !
glad to hear raggedy's tooth has stopped acting up .
try some FRIM FRAM SAUCE upon re-occurence of pain

Quote:
Frim Fram Sauce

Diana Krall, Nat King Cole

I don't want French-fried potatoes,
Red, ripe tomatoes.
I'm never satisfied.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.

I don't want pork chops and bacon.
That won't awaken
My appetite inside.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.

Well, you know,
A girl, she really got to eat,
And a girl, she should eat right.
Five will get you ten
I'm gonna feed myself right tonight.

I don't want fish-cakes and Rye bread,
You heard what I said.
Waiter, please, I want mine fried.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.

Shoo, doo-doo-doo-ya, doo, doo;
Shuuba doo-ya doo, sheeya-did'n'doo.

I don't want French-fried potatoes,
Red, ripe tomatoes.
I'm never satisfied.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.

I don't want pork chops and bacon.
That won't awaken
My appetite inside.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.

Now you know,
Girls. we really got to eat,
And you know we should eat right.
Five will get you ten
I'm gonna feed myself right tonight.

I don't want fish-cakes and Rye bread,
You heard what I said.
Waiter, please, I want mine fried.
I want the Frim Fram Sauce
With the oss and fay
With shifafa on the side.
Ooh, with shifafa, uh, on the side.

Ah, Raggedy, I thought that would get a rise out of you, PA. Thanks for the trio, gal.

Well, here is hbg with Diana Krall and Nat Cole. Don't know about frim fram sauce, Canada, but I now know about figgy pudding and my favorite plum pudding.

How's this for a great combination, folks. Holly and Cole. Razz

Holly Cole from Nova Scotia

Ask me - How do I feel?
Ask me now that we are cosy and clinging?
Well sir, all I can say is if I were a bell I'd be ringing.
From the moment we kissed tonight,
That's that way I've just got to behave.
Boy, if I was a lamp I'd light,
Or if I was a banner I'd wave.
Ask me how do I feel?
Little me with my quiet upbringing.
Well sir, all I can say is if I was a gate I'd be swinging.
Or if I was a watch I'd start popping my spring.
Or if I were a bell I'd go ding dong ding dong ding.

Ask me - How do I feel?
From this chemistry lesson I'm learning.
Well sir, all I can say is if I was a bridge I'd be burning.
Yes I knew my morale would crack.
From the wonderful way that you looked.
Boy, if I was a duck i'd quack.
Or if I was a goose I'd be cooked.
Ask me how do I feel?
Ask me now that we're fondly caressing.
Pal, if I was a salad I'd surely be splashing my dressing.
Or if I were a top I'd start popping my spring
Or if I were a bell
I'd go ding dong ding dong - DING!

I can't deal
Since you walked out on me
Holy smoke, what you doing to me?

I can't eat
And I can't sleep
Since you walked out on me
Holy cow, what you doing, child, child?

Holy cow, what you doing, child?
(What you doing, what you doing, child?)
Holy smoke, well it ain't no joke
(No joke) hey, hey, hey

First my boss
The job I lost
Since you walked out on me
Holy smoke, what you doing to me?
Walking the ledge
Nerves on edge
Since you walked out on me
Holy cow, what you doing to me, child?

Holy cow, what you doing, child?
(What you doing, what you doing, child?)
Holy smoke, well it ain't no joke
(No joke) hey, hey, hey

Holy cow, what you doing, child?

Cold empty bed...springs hurt my head
Feels like ole ned...wished I was dead
What did I do...to be so black and blue

Even the mouse...ran from my house
They laugh at you...and all that you do
What did I do...to be so black and blue

Im white...inside...but, that dont help my case
Thats life...cant hide...what is in my face

How would it end...aint got a friend
My only sin...is in my skin
What did I do...to be so black and blue

(instrumental break)

How would it end...i aint got a friend
My only sin...is in my skin
What did I do...to be so black and blue

Glad that we could make our Raggedy laugh, folks.

edgar, I'm certain that many musicians like Louis felt uncomfortable at times because of their skin, but when I think how many recorded this song, I do wonder if it was all bad.

Pale moon shining on the fields below,
Folks are crooning songs soft and low,
Needn't tell me so, because I know,
It's sleepy time down south.

Soft winds blowing through the pinewood trees,
Folks down there live a life of ease,
When the twilight brings the evening breeze,
It's sleepy time down south.

Steamboats on the river a-comin' and a-goin',
Splashing the night away,
Hear those banjos ringin', the folks are all a-singin',
They dance till break of day.

Dear old southland, with its dreamy songs
Takes me back there where I belong,
How I'd love to be in mother's arms
When it's sleepy time down south.

PRINCE CHARLES BAKES FIGGY PUDDING FOR LETTY !

Bring us a figgy pudding Prince Charles

http://media.monstersandcritics.com/articles/1372500/article_images/headline_1194713600.jpg

The organic pudding from Charles' Duchy Originals range saw off stiff competition from four other cakes shortlisted by Good Housekeeping magazine to be crowed overall winner.

An expert panel not only praised the £11.99 product for "capturing the flavour of Christmas" but were also impressed with the pudding's "home-made" look.

Good Housekeeping editor Louise Chunn said: "Of course home-made is often best but if you haven't got time, then we believe that the products we've chosen are the perfect addition to any Christmas dinner."

Meanwhile, Charles officially opened the newly refurbished exclusive London food store Fortnum + Mason last night (08.11.07).

The prince was guest of honour at the glitzy evening celebrating the £24 million makeover as well as the store's 300th birthday.

Fortnum + Mason of London's Piccadilly has supplied food and goods to the British Royal Family since 1707.

Speaking before he unveiled a plague to mark the occasion, Charles said: "I am happy to be here to celebrate a store that is so much part of British heritage and I look forward to another centenary for Fortnum & Mason."

Well, I may have royal kin somewhere in Wales, hbg, and I suppose Prince Charles may have thought of me as he sampled that figgy pudding. Razz

With apologies to dadpad who thinks we should wait until December to "deck the halls"......

We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
we wish you a merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year

Now bring us some figgy pudding
Oh bring us some figgy pudding
Oh, bring us some figgy pudding
And a cup of good cheer
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year

We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some
So bring some out here
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year

We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin
Good tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year

I promise, however, that I won't play "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas."

Ah, hbg. Don't think twice; it's all right. Wow! I just found out I have heard this one by Bob Dylan.

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

Well, Letty's turning off her light folks, and it's time to say goodnight.

Fond memories of this song.

Some like a night at the movies, some like a dance or a show
Some are content with an evening spent home by the radio
Some like to live for the moment, some like to just reminisce
But whenever I have an evening to spend. just give me one like this

This is a lovely way to spend an evening. can't think of anything I'd rather do
This is a lovely way to spend an evening, can't think of anyone as lovely as you

A casual stroll through a garden. a kiss by a lazy lagoon
Catching a breath of moonlight, humming our favorite tune

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights and spend them with you
Catching a breath of moonlight, humming our favorite tune
This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights and spend them with you

Goodnight, my friends
From Letty with love.

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Well, edgar, that song you just played, especially the phrase, "...a little bit higher..." reminded me of this one.

Jackie Wilson

Your love, liftin' me higher
Than I've ever been lifted before
So keep it up, quench my desire
And I'll be at your side forevermore

You know your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on liftin' (your love keeps liftin' me)
Higher (liftin' me, liftin' me), higher, and higher (higher)
I said your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on (liftin' me, liftin' me)
Liftin' me (liftin' me) higher and higher (higher)

Now once I was downhearted
Disappointment was my closest friend
But then you came and he soon departed
And you know he never showed his face again

That's why your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on liftin' (your love keeps liftin' me)
Higher (liftin' me, liftin' me), higher, and higher (higher)
I said your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on (liftin' me, liftin' me)
Liftin' me (liftin' me) higher and higher (higher)
Awww

I'm so glad I finally found you
Yes, that one in a million girls
And I wish my lovin' arms around ya
Honey, I can stand up and face the world

Let me tell ya your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on liftin' (your love keeps liftin' me)
Higher (liftin' me, liftin' me), higher, and higher (higher)
I said your love (your love keeps liftin' me)
Keeps on (liftin' me, liftin' me)
Liftin' me (liftin' me) higher and higher (higher)

Hey, Sharon, Welcome back, gal. I just discovered that the song I played was from Ghost Busters. I think it may be the one that made the Lady with the Lamp walk.

Got a message from my Irish friend that a kid was suspended from school because he wouldn't cut his hair. Wow!

There are many good songs from the rock opera "Hair", so let's consider this song, folks.

Hair

Intro

She asks me why, why I'm just a hairy guy.
I'm hairy noon and nighty night night, my hair is a fright.
I'm hairy high and low, but don't ask me why, cause he don't know.
It's not for lack of bread, like the Grateful Dead.
Darlin'

Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair.
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen.
Give me down to there hair, shoulder length or longer hair
Here baby, there, momma, ev'rywhere, daddy, daddy.

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair. Flow it, show it, long as I can grow it, my hair.

I'd let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees, give a home to the fleas in my hair.
A home for the fleas, a hive for the buzzin' bees,
A nest for birds, there ain't no words for the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my:

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it, long as I can grow it, my hair

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty,
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, streaming, gleaming, flaxen, waxen,
Knotted, polka dotted, twisted, beaded, braided,
Powdered, flowered and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled and spahettied.

Oh say can you see, rise if you can,
And my hair's too short

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair.Flow it, show it,
Long as God can grow it, my hair

They'll be ga-ga at the go-go when they see me in my toga,
My toga meade of blond, brilliantined, biblical hair.
My hair like Jesus wore it, Halleluja I adore it, Halleluja Mary loved her son,why don't my mother love me?

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Folw it, show it
Long as God can grow it, my hair

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it, my hair

Nice to see you laughing, Raggedy, and thanks for the great quintet of celebs.

Unfortunately, folks, there doesn't seem to be any particular melody associated with our famous folks, so this one surfaced from somewhere.

Many people have done it, but it seems to fit the mood.

Without a song, the day would never end.
Without a song the road would never bend.
When things go wrong, a man ain't got a friend
Without a song.

That field of corn would never see a plow.
That field of corn would be deserted now.
A man is born, but he's no good no-how
Without a song.

I got my troubles and woe,
but sure as I know that Jordan will roll
I'll get along as long as a song is strong in my soul

I'll never know what makes the rain to fall
I'll never know what makes the grass so tall
I only know there ain't no love at all
Without a song!!

Old Rivers by Walter Brennan
(Words and music by Crofford)

How old was I when I first seen old Rivers?
I can't remember when he weren't around
Well, that old fellow did a heap of work
Spent his whole life walking plowed ground.

He had a one-room shack not far from us
And well, we was about as poor as him
He had one old mule he called Midnight
And I'd trailed along after them.

He used to plow them rows straight and deep
And I'd come along near behind
A-bustin' up clods with my own bare feet
Old Rivers was a friend of mine.

That sun'd get high and that mule would work
Till old Rivers'd say, ''Whoa!''
He'd wipe his brow, lean back on the reins
And talk about a place he was gonna go.

Chorus:
He'd say, one of these days
I'm gonna climb that mountain
Walk up there amoung the clouds
Where the cotton's high
And the corn's a-growin'
And there ain't no fields to plow.

--- Instrumental ---

I got a letter today from the folks back home and
They're all fine and crops is dry
Down at the end my mama said, ''Son
You know old Rivers died.''

Just sittin' here now on this new-plowed earth
Trying to find me a little shade
With the sun beating down 'cross the field I see
That mule, old Rivers and me.

Chorus:
Now, one of these days
I'm gonna climb that mountain
Walk up there amoung the clouds
Where the cotton's high
And the corn's a-growin'
And there ain't no fields to plow.

With the sun beating down 'cross the field I see
That mule, old Rivers and me...
