A husband wrote the following letter for his wife
and left it on the dining room table:
"To My Dear Wife,
You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you,
being 54 years old, can no longer satisfy.
I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife.
Therefore after reading this letter I hope you will not wrongly interpret
the fact that I will be spending the evening with my 18-year-old secretary
at the Comfort Inn Hotel. Please don't be upset ~ I shall be back home before midnight."
When the man came home late that night he found the following letter on the
dining room table:
"To My Dear Husband, I Received your letter and thank you for your honesty
about my being 54 years old.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old.
As you know I am a math teacher at our local college.
I would like to inform you that while you read this I will be at the Hotel Fiesta with
Michael, one of my students, who is also the assistant tennis coach.
He is young, virile, and like your secretary, is 18 years old.
As a successful businessman with an excellent knowledge of math you will understand
that we are in the same situation, although with one small difference;
18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18.
Therefore I will not be home until sometime tomorrow."

Wasted days and wasted nights,
I have left for you Behind
for you don't belong to me,
your heart belongs to someone else.

Why should I keep loving you,
when I know that you're Not true?
And why should I call your name,
when you're to blame
for making me Blue?
(chorus)
Don't you remember the day,
that you went away and left me?
I was so lonely,
prayed for you only,
my love.

and there she is, folks, a genie out of a bottle with those fabulous photo's.
We're looking at Ros, Dennis, Bruce and Freddie. Great quartet, PA.
And speaking of quartets, here's one by the four guys who sound like a million. This goes out to all the kids who are finally out of school.
There's a time a for joy
A time for tears
A time we'll treasure through the years
We'll remember always
Graduation day
At the senior prom
We danced 'til three
And there you gave your heart to me
We'll remember always
Graduation day
Though we leave in sorrow
All the joys we've known
We can face tomorrow
Knowing we'll never walk alone
When the ivy walls
Are far behind
No matter where our paths may wind
We'll remember always
Graduation day
We'll remember always
Graduation day

and at the same concert : HANK THOMPSON - WILD SIDE OF LIFE
Quote:
You wouldn't read my letter if I wrote you
You asked me not to call you on the phone
But there's something I'm wanting to tell you
So I wrote it in the words of this song
CHORUS:
I didn't know God made honky tonk angels
I might have known you'd never make a wife
You gave up the only one that ever loved you
And went back to the wild side of life
The glamor of the gay night life has lured you
To the places where the wine and liquor flows
Where you wait to be anybody's baby
And forget the truest love you'll ever know
REPEAT CHORUS
You wouldn't read the letter that I wrote you
You told me not to call you on the phone
But there's something that I've just got to tell you
So I wrote it in the words of this song
CHORUS:
I didn't know God made honky tonk angels
I might have known you'd never make a wife
You gave up the only one that ever loved you
And went back to the wild side of life
The glamor of the gay night life has lured you
To the places where the wine and liquor flow
Where you wait to be anybody's baby
And forgot the truest love you'll ever know

Hey, hbg. A lot of Hank's in the country music business, right? Don't know if this guy ever made it to the big hall, but how about a change of name, Canada.
Faron Young.
Hello, walls - (hello) (hello)
How'd things go for you today
Don't you miss her
Since she up and walked a way
And I'll bet you dread to spend
Another lonely night with me
Lonely walls
I'll keep you company.
Hello, window - (hello) (hello)
Well I see that you're still here
Aren't you lonely
Since our darlin' disappeared
Well, look here, is that a teardrop
In the corner of your pane
Now, don't you try
To tell me that it's rain.
She went away and left us all alone
The way she planned
Guess we'll have to learn to get along
Without her if we can;
Hello, ceiling - (hello) (hello)
I'm gonna stare at you awhile
You know I can't sleep
So won't you bear with me awhile
We must all stick together or else
I'll lose my mind
I've got a feelin'
She'll be gone a long, long time
I think my favorite Hank is Hank Snow.

letty ;
you mean this canadian fellow , eh ?
Quote:
Clarence Eugene Snow was born in Brooklyn, Queens County, Nova Scotia, Canada. And once when the sea-going fellow returned from one of his trips, he learned his mother had obtained a cheap guitar from a mail order house. This gave the youngster his first try on a stringed instrument.
and the rest is history .
btw stompin' tom is a great admirer of hank and the show includes tom's "tribute to hank snow" .
stompin' tom had to give the approval for the production of the show :
"the ballad of stompin' tom " .
a/t reports many cases of beer were consumed in the "approval process" and tom declared the show to be fit to get his seal of approval .

Quote:
Stompin Tom
Song: The Man in the Moon is a Newfie
You might think its goofie, but the man in the moon is a Newfie
And he's sailin on to glory, away in the golden dory....x2
Codfish Dan from Newfoundland he dreamt that he had tree wishes
And he took mars and all the stars and he turned them into big fishes
He said the sky was much too dry and he made a wavy motion
And the moon like a boat began to float upon the starry ocean
Chorus:
And you might think its goofy...
One night he strayed to the milky way to cast his nets upon it
He spied the tail of a great big whale and he harpooned Haleys comet
He never had a pot for the fish that he caught so he had to use the big dipper
And the sun by jove was a very good stove for cookin up smelts and kippers
Chorus:
Now the northern lights that seem so bright like nothin could be grander
Well they're just waves that the moon-boat made by the Newfoundland Commander!
And don't you sigh and say oh my "What gross exagerration!"
Cause he'll tell you the dream was true when Codfish Dan awakens
Chorus:
And you might think its goofy but the man in the moon is a Newfie....
Twice and then end...

Ah, yes, hbg. I knew that Hank was a canuck, and I love your Tom song, buddy. Thanks, Canada. The lyrics are fabulous.
Here's one from Hank and a parody to match.
That big eight-wheeler rollin' down the track
Means your true-lovin' daddy ain't comin' back
'Cause I'm movin' on, I'll soon be gone
You were flyin' too high, for my little old sky
So I'm movin' on
That big loud whistle as it blew and blew
Said hello to the southland, we're comin' to you
When we're movin' on, oh hear my song
You had the laugh on me, so I've set you free
And I'm movin' on
Mister fireman won't you please listen to me
'Cause I got a pretty mama in Tennessee
Keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
So shovel the coal, let this rattler roll
And keep movin' me on
Mister Engineer, take that throttle in hand
This rattler's the fastest in the southern land
To keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
You gonna ease my mind, put me there on time
And keep rollin' on
I've told you baby, from time to time
But you just wouldn't listen or pay me no mind
Now I'm movin' on, I'm rollin' on
You've broken your vow, and it's all over now
So I'm movin' on
You've switched your engine now I ain't got time
For a triflin' woman on my main line
Cause I'm movin on, you done your daddy wrong
I warned you twice, now you can settle the price
'Cause I'm movin on
But someday baby when you've had your play
You're gonna want your daddy but your daddy will say
Keep movin' on, you stayed away too long
I'm through with you, too bad you're blue
Keep movin' on

and, folks. The parody by Homer and Jethro.
MOVING ON 2
The old hound dog was feelin' fine
Till he fell in a barrel of turpentine
He's A-Movin' On, He's A-Movin' On
He passed the gate, like an eight-eight, He's A-Movin' On.
There was a smart guy from the city
And he picked up a stripe'd kitty
He's A-Movin' On, He's A-Movin' On
We held our nose, as we burried his clothes, We're A-Movin' On.
I let a man work on my car
Then he grabbed a-hold of a spark plug wire
He's A-Movin' On, He's A-Movin' On
He turned it loose, when he felt the juice, He's A-Movin' On.
The old Tom cat was a-feelin' mean
When he caught his tail in the sewin' machine
He's A-Movin' On, He's A-Movin' On
He ripped a stitch, when he hit the ditch, He's A-Movin' On.
The old man's face got white as a sheet
When he slipped and fell in his cream of wheat
He's A-Movin' On, He's A-Movin' On
He flapped his ears, as he shifted gears, He's A-Movin' On.
Uncle John got awful clean
When he fell into the washing machine
He's A-Movin' On,He's A-Movin' On
He couldn't straddle, that doggone paddle, He's A-Movin' On.
We travel a lot to make our showin'
The way we sing we have to keep goin'
We're A-Movin' On, We're A-Movin' On
We've gotta go, here comes Hank Snow, We're A-Movin' On.

Goodnight, all.
From Jobim
Quiet nights 'n quiet stars, quiet chords from my guitar
Floating on the silence that surrounds us
Quiet thoughts 'n quiet dreams, quiet walks by quiet streams
Climbing hills where lovers go to watch the world below together
We will live eternally in this mood of reverie
Away . . . from all the earthly cares around us
My world was dull each minute until I found you in it
And all at once the happiness I knew,
Became these quiet nights of loving you!
[instrumental break]
We will live eternally in this mood of reverie
Away . . . from all the earthly cares around us
My world was dull each minute until I found you in it
And all at once the happiness I knew,
Became these quiet nights of loving you!
Hmmm . . .

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and i see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.
I look at the world and i notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you.
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
Look at you all...
Still my guitar gently weeps.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.
edgar, "while my guitar gently weeps" is a great line. I suppose if fine wood needs to breathe, then it can also weep. Thanks, Texas.
Two things on my mind this morning besides coffee. One has to do with the classical piece, The Bells of Moscow, and the other with this song.
You better go now
Because I like you much, too much
You have a way with you
You ought to know now
Just why I like you very much
The night was gay with you
There's the moon above
And it gives my heart a lot of swing
In your eyes there's love
And the way I feel it must be spring
I want you so now
You have the lips I love to touch
You better go now
You better go, because I like you much, too much
I like you much too much.
I hope those who are ill or recovering greet the day with new found peace and health.

William Boyd
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
William Boyd on "Topper"William Boyd (June 5, 1895 - September 12, 1972) was an American actor.
Born William Lawrence Boyd in Cambridge, Ohio, he was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He became famous as a Hollywood leading man in silent film romances with a yearly salary of $100,000, but by the end of the 1920s his career had begun to deteriorate, Boyd was without a contract and going broke. Boyd's picture was mistakenly run in a newspaper story about the arrest of another actor with a similar name William Stage Boyd on gambling and liquor charges, which further hurt his career. In 1935 he was offered the lead role in the movie Hopalong Cassidy. He changed the original pulp-fiction character, written by Clarence E. Mulford, from a whisky guzzling wrangler to a cowboy hero who didn't smoke, drink, or swear, and let the bad guy start the fight. Boyd gained lasting fame in the Western film genre beginning in 1935, when he first played Hopalong Cassidy, a role with which he would be indelibly associated. Boyd shrewdly purchased the rights to the character of Hopalong, as well as the rights to the movies (66 in all). In the early 1950s he released the movies to television, where they were extremely popular. He was one of the first actors to license merchandise. There were many products including, Hopalong Cassidy watches, cups and dishes, comic books and cowboy outfits. Boyd became a hero to a generation of American children and a multi-millionaire. The films remain available for broadcast, and are on DVD in physically restored form.
Boyd appeared as Hopalong Cassidy on the cover of numerous national magazines, such as the August 29, 1950 issue of Look Magazine [1], and the November 27, 1950 issue of Time Magazine.
Oddly, both Clark Gable and Robert Mitchum experienced their first big breaks in movies playing bearded villains in westerns starring Boyd.
William Boyd died in 1972 in Laguna Beach, California and was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. He is survived by his wife, actress Grace Bradley Boyd.
For his contribution to the motion picture industry, William Boyd has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1734 Vine Street. In 1995, he was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Since 1991, the Friends of Hoppy fan club has held the Hopalong Cassidy Festival in Boyd's hometown of Cambridge, Ohio.

Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg (born June 5, 1971) is an Academy Award-nominated American actor, television producer and former rapper. He has also spent time working as a male fashion model.
Biography
Early life
He was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the youngest[1] of nine children, with siblings Arthur, Jim, Paul, Robert, Tracey, Michelle, Debbie, and Donnie Wahlberg. His father, Donald Edward Wahlberg, was a delivery driver, and his mother, Alma Elaine Donnelly, was a nurse; the two divorced in 1982.[2] His paternal grandfather was of Swedish descent, while the majority of his other ancestry is Irish.[3] Wahlberg had a Catholic upbringing and attended Copley Square High School (but never graduated) on Newbury Street in Boston.
As a teenager, Wahlberg participated in several acts of violence for which he was charged, later claiming to have been in trouble 20-25 times with the Boston Police Department as a youth.[4] At 15 he harassed a group of African American school children on a field trip by throwing rocks (causing injuries) and shouting racist epithets.[5] When he was 16, while under the influence of cocaine and alcohol (again using racist language) he knocked a middle aged Vietnamese man unconscious with a wooden stick and left another Vietnamese man permanently blind in one eye. In an interview for Inside the Actor's Studio, he admitted that he has no recollections of the incident, because he passed out just before the police caught him. For these crimes Wahlberg was charged for attempted murder, pled guilty to assault, and spent 45 days in jail at Boston's Deer Island House of Correction.[6][7] In yet another incident when he was 21 Wahlberg fractured the jaw of a neighbor in an unprovoked attack.[8]
Music career
Wahlberg first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the successful 1980s boy band New Kids on the Block.
Ironically, he had been chosen along with Donnie, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, and Jonathan Knight as the original members of the group, but he chose to quit upon disliking the bubblegum pop squeaky-clean image they were to use. It was his departure, as well as Jamie Kelly's, that allowed Joe McIntyre to take his place as the fifth member of the group. Wahlberg began recording as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, earning a hit with "Good Vibrations" from the album Music for the People. The record was produced by brother Donnie and later hit #1 on The Billboard Hot 100. Marky Mark opened for the New Kids during their last tour. The second Marky Mark LP, You Gotta Believe, was a relative failure. He briefly became embroiled in controversy when he appeared to endorse the homophobic comments made by Shabba Ranks when they appeared as guests on the British chat show The Word. When Ranks made the statement that "gays ought to be crucified", a shocked Wahlberg remained in silence at his comments, which made the public believe he was also prejudiced. He later publicly dissociated himself from Ranks' comments, but only after widespread media coverage. In the dedication of his 1992 book "Marky Mark", co-authored with photographer Lynn Goldsmith, Wahlberg says in the preface that "I wanna dedicate this book to my dick".
Wahlberg was also known for his impressive physique. He first displayed it in the Good Vibrations music video and most prominently in a series of underwear ads for Calvin Klein shot by Herb Ritts. During concert performances, he was known for stripping to his briefs and grabbing his crotch. He also made a workout video entitled The Marky Mark Workout: Form... Focus... Fitness (ISBN 1-55510-910-1). Afterwards he had a few hits in the European dance scene with Prince Ital Joe, which abruptly ended when the latter died in a car accident.
Film career
Wahlberg then began an acting career, making his debut in the 1993 TV movie The Substitute. He has earned positive reviews and appeared in a number of successful movies like Boogie Nights as Dirk Diggler, Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, Four Brothers, and The Italian Job. His performance in I ♥ Huckabees was voted best supporting performance of the year in the 2004 Village Voice Critics Poll. Wahlberg was originally cast as Linus Caldwell in Ocean's Eleven; Matt Damon played the role instead. The two later worked together in The Departed.[9] Wahlberg was also originally considered for a role in the film Brokeback Mountain. The movie was originally intended to star him and Joaquin Phoenix, but Wahlberg was uncomfortable with the film's sex scenes and his role ultimately went to Jake Gyllenhaal.[10]
Wahlberg recently starred in the football drama, Invincible, based on the true story of Vince Papale. He is also the executive producer of the HBO series Entourage which is loosely based on his experiences in Hollywood. He also appeared as a Massachusetts State Police detective in Martin Scorsese's critically acclaimed thriller, The Departed in 2006, which netted him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, an NSFC Best Supporting Actor award, to mention a few.[11]
Wahlberg has confirmed that he was approached to star in a sequel to The Departed, but it's still early in development. The sequel would reportedly revolve around the detective played by Wahlberg.[12][13]
To prepare for his role in Shooter, Wahlberg attended long-range shooting training at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute near Pahrump, Nevada, and was able to hit a target at 2000 yards.[14] He has said in a number of interviews that he will retire at the age of 40 to concentrate on parenthood and professional golf.[15] However, in early 2007 he indicated that this was no longer the plan as "[his] golf game is horrible".[16]
Personal life
Wahlberg and longtime girlfriend actress/model Rhea Durham have two children together. The couple's first child, a daughter named Ella Rae, was born on September 2, 2003. Their son, Michael, joined the family on March 22, 2006.
The actor/rapper previously dated actress Jordana Brewster.
Wahlberg is a practicing Catholic.[17][18]
In 1996, Mark Wahlberg dated his Fear co-star Reese Witherspoon during and after the production of the movie.[citation needed] He has dated his co-star in the film The Big Hit, China Chow.
He is also rumored to have had an affair with Madonna in the early 1990s.[citation needed]
Trivia
Mark was a scheduled passenger on United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, but decided at the last minute to head up to the Toronto International Film Festival instead.[19][20]
Mark has a third (supernumerary) nipple below his normal left nipple.

A nice, calm, and respectable woman went into a pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist and looked him straight in his eyes and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide!" The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The woman replied, "I need it to poison my husband!"
The pharmacist's eyes widened and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband! That's against the law, I'll lose my license, they will throw us both in jail, all kinds of bad things will happen, absolutely not! You CANNOT have cyanide!"
The woman reached into her handbag and pulled out a photo of her husband in bed with the pharmacists wife.
The pharmacist looked at the photo and said, "Well now, that's different, you didn't tell me you had a prescription

Hey, hawkman. Your bio's are rather skinny this morning, but I only know one. I had to search out Mark Wahberg. Wow! he sounds like a real rebel.
Found Good Vibrations, but I believe that I prefer The Beach Boys' version.
Loved your funny as it tells us what a little blackmail can do, right?
Searched for songs by Hopalong and found nothing, folks. So let's make do with some Beach Boy's stuff.
Beach Boys - Good Vibrations Lyrics
(Brian Wilson/Mike Love (Tony Asher and Van Dyke Parks, uncredited lyricists))
I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair
I hear the sound of a gentle word
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air
I'm pickin' up good vibrations
She's giving me excitations
I'm pickin' up good vibrations
(Oom bop bop good vibrations)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
Good good good good vibrations
(Oom bop bop)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
Good good good good vibrations
(Oom bop bop)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
Close my eyes
She's somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind
When I look in her eyes
She goes with me to a blossom world
I'm pickin' up good vibrations
She's giving me excitations
I'm pickin' up good vibrations
(Oom bop bop good vibrations)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
Good good good good vibrations
(Oom bop bop)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
Good good good good vibrations
(Oom bop bop)
She's giving me excitations
(Oom bop bop excitations)
(Ahhhhhhh)
(Ah my my what elation)
I don't know where but she sends me there
(Ah my my what a sensation)
(Ah my my what elations)
(Ah my my what)
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin' with her
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin' with her
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin'
Ahhhhhhhh
Good good good good vibrations
(Oom bop bop)
(I'm pickin' up good vibrations)
She's giving me excitations
