Well well,
I am back, at least a little.Still am having all kinds of problems with this new site, with not enough buttons or explanations as to what to do for what ever I want it to do.So it all comes trough, and not edited like I used to do. So sorry.
And finally ...."Happy Birthday Kjell".A Big Hug!!!
Hope you had a good time in Egypt. At least it was warm I bet.Still chilly here, but flowers are starting to bloom, and the sun is shining, so no complaints.
S.

Subject: George W at a Primary School

George W goes to a primary school to talk to the kids to get a little PR.
After his talk he offers question time. One little boy puts up his hand and
George asks him his name.

"Stanley," responds the little boy.

"And what is your question, Stanley?"

"I have 3 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the support
of the UN? Second, why are you President when Al Gore got more votes? And
third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?"

Just then, the bell rings for recess. George Bush informs the kiddies that
they will continue after recess.

When they resume George says, "OK, where were we? Oh, that's right: question
time. Who has a question?"

Another little boy puts up his hand. George points him out and asks him his
name.

"Steve! ," he responds.

"And what is your question, Steve?"

"Actually, I have 5 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq without
the support of the UN? Second, why are you President when Al Gore got more
votes? Third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden? Fourth, why did the
recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And fifth, what the hell happened to
Stanley?"

Bob, what fantastic bio's you have today. I really enjoyed and knew most of them as I am certain all of our listeners did. Loved your funny about the kids questioning GWB. Hope Steve is still around. Razz Thanks, Boston.

I noticed that Carol King was mentioned in the Simon bio, so let's hear one from that very talented lady. Later I hope that our Raggedy will return with photo's.

Singer: Carole King
Album: Tapestry
Song's name: So Far Away
Song info: Lyrics and Music: Carole King

So far away; Doesn't anybody stay in one place any more?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door;
Doesn't help to know you're just time away;
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood;
Holding you again could only do me good;
How I wish I could, but you're so far away

One more song about movin' along the highway;
Can't say much of anything that's new;
If I could only work this life out my way;
I'd rather spend it bein' close to you;

But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door;
Doesn't help to know you're so far away
Yay-uh-ay-eee; Oh, so far away

Travelin' around sure gets me down and lonely;
Nothin' else to do but close my mind;
I sure hope the road don't come to own me;
Yet so many dreams I've yet to find;

But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door;
And it doesn't help to know you're so far away

Well there's our Raggedy back with a great collage. Thanks again, PA. Hmmm, folks, let's see if we can put face to name.

Cornell ("The Naked Prey was excellent") Yves. (my son called him Yives) Razz Nipsy(very funny man), sad, sad Lenny. Don't know NaNa; Paul and Marie.

My word, Marie looks better now, methinks.

Well, listeners. I tried to find "A Time of Cherries" by Yves Montand without success; however, he did sing this one.

The falling leaves
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves
Of red and gold

I see your lips
The summer kisses
The sunburned hands
I used to hold

Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song

But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall

overnight the niagara/buffalo area was blanketed with about two feet of snow - she's not coming back until monday , so snow will have melted some .

Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

(but it better stop soon !)

My word, hamburger. Thanks for the weather report in New York, Canada.

Certainly hope that things don't get worse, and that ehBeth's shopping trip was worth the winter- come- early.

Here's to Buffalo and Beth:

Shovelling Snow.
Sparkling eyes, cheeks aglow,
See him shovelling through the snow.
Few will tread his opened way,
None his labors will repay;

Hear him humming soft and low,
As he shovels in the snow.

At a humble window see
Picture fair as fair can be;
Maidenhood in rustic bloom
Standing by an idle broom.

How the blushes come and go
As she sees the flying snow.

Simple hearts so young and warm,
Love has taken you by storm.
May the winters as they roll,
Closer bind you soul to soul;

May your heaven here below
Be as spotless as the snow.

KING RICHARD III
A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

CATESBY
Withdraw, my lord; I'll help you to a horse.

###

After nine days I let the horse run free
'Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
there was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...

CATESBY:
Rescue, my Lord of Norfolk, rescue, rescue!
The king enacts more wonders than a man,
Daring an opposite to every danger:
His horse is slain, and all on foot he fights,
Seeking for Richmond in the throat of death.
Rescue, fair lord, or else the day is lost!

KING RICHARD III:
A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

CATESBY:
Withdraw, my lord; I'll help you to a horse.

######

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Save The Sky

To clean the air
Who could give a care
We'll make our home
In the dirty ozone

Mix it all together
And call it smog
Send it up to God
Hide it in the fog

Save the sky
Hear the children cry
Save the sky
The human race will die
Save the sky
It's time to try
Save the sky
We've got to save the sky

God really knows
The mess that we've made
But he can't see through
This pollutant blockade
If we burn the sky
'Till the lightning bolts fly
In humanities cry
We'll all die

It's a shame
It's always the same
Everyone's too busy
Playin' the game
To hear the cry
We've got to save the sky

Ah, Rex. Another original' and wonderfully written. Thanks, Maine for the environmental plea.

This says it in harsher terms, folks:

This song is based on this true study of wasps and global warming

The arrival of the cuckoo wasp,
Turning from when to was,
The arrival of the cuckoo wasp(s),
Looking though it will last?
If you try to swat this fly,
You will see exactly why --
The pieces of a different species.

A stinger from the abdomen,
Stings again, again and again.
Longer than could ever be true?
True... I tell you.

A body of metallic gleams,
Impervious to all... it seems.
Her parasitic offspring,
Bring a death offering.

What brought this pest to me?
Why this trouble... do I see?

The arrival of the cuckoo wasp,
Turned from when to was,
The arrival of the cuckoo wasps,
Looking though it will last.
Longer then us? Hard to grasp!
Oozing with puss? Run fast!

Ozzy is---------------------------------------------

REVELATION (MOTHER EARTH)

Mother please forgive them
For they know not what they do
Looking back in history's books
It seems it's nothing new
Oh! Let my mother live

Heaven is for heroes
And hell is full of fools
Stupidity, no will to live
They're breaking God's own rules
Please let my mother live

Father, of all creation
I think we're all going wrong
The course they're taking
Seems to be breaking
And it won't take too long

Children of the future
Watching empires fall
Madness the cup they drink from
Self destruction the toll

I had a vision, I saw the world burn
And the seas had turned red
The sun had fallen, the final curtain
In the land of the dead

Mother, please show the children
Before it's too late
To fight each other, there's no one winning
We must fight all the hate

Well, Brit. We're all in it together. I just watched "The Deer Hunter" and that was the most powerful ending to a movie that I have ever seen.

And, folks, there's another side to our planet. What good is it to be green peace if people can't help people.

John Lennon/Paul McCartney

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has
been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the
door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from ?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong ?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will
hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working. Darning his socks in the night when there's
nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her
name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from
the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

hbg, that is some storm they are having in Buffalo. I am certain that Bethie is being quite frugal, and yes, like father like daughter. Razz

Now, folks. This one can be for our Raggedy, 'cause she likes Al Martino, and for hamburger cause Beth will always be..............

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.

You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree,
You're the Easter bunny to mommy and me.
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.

You're the treasure I cherish so sparkling and bright,
You were touched by the holy and beautiful light.
Like angels that sing, a heavenly thing,
And you're daddy's little girl.

A Different Kind Of Love Song

What if the world was crazy and I was sane
Would it be so strange
I can't believe that I am alone in saying
The things I'm saying
I am - part of you
These are - universal truths
We're all - part of the light that flows through everything

This is a different kind of love song
Dedicated to everyone
Different kind of love song, - oh, oh
This is a different kind of love song
A higher plane we can go on
Different kind of love song - oh, oh

What if the world calmed down and we could all breathe
Together easily
Connecting the sky and the ground with you and me
And everything in between
I am - part of you
We have - living proof
There is - some kind of light that flows through everything

This is a different kind of love song
Ooh, Ooh
This is a different kind of love song
A higher plain we can flow on
Different kind of love song

This is a different kind of love song
Ooh, A love song
Ooh, Ooh, Ooh
This is a different kind of love song
Dedicated to everyone
Different kind of love song
Ooh, Ooh, Ooh
This is a different kind of love song
A higher plane we can go on
Different kind of love song
Ooh, oh oh - Ooh, oh, oh
This is a different kind of love song
This is a different kind, a different kind
of love song
Ooh, Ooh, Ooh

A Slow Song
Joe Jackson

Music has charms they say
But in some people's hands
It becomes a savage beast
Can't they control it
Why don't they hold it back

You see my friend and me
Don't have an easy day
And at night we dance not fight
And we need the energy
If not the sympathy

But I'm brutalized by bass
And terrorized by treble
I'm open to change my mood but
I always get caught in the middle

And I get tired of DJ's
Why's it always what he plays
I'm gonna push right through
I'm gonna tell him too
Tell him to
Play us
Play us a slow song

It's late - I'm winding down
Am I the only one
To want a strong and silent sound
To pick me up and undress me
Lay me down and caress me

I feel you touch my hand
And whisper in my ear
Ask me how I'm feeling now
And I want to get near you
But I can't even hear you

But this is a fine romance
If we have to be so demanding
We need just one more dance to
Leave here with an understanding

And I get tired of DJ's
Why's it always what he plays
I'm gonna push right through
I'm gonna tell him too
Tell him to
Play us
Play us a slow song

Roundabout

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out
And change the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

The music dance and sing
They make the children really ring
I'll spend the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

I will remember you
Your silhouette will charge the view
Of distance atmosphere
Call it morning driving thru the sound and even in the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land
Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land
The eagles dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand
Go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand
Next to your deeper fears we stand
Surrounded by a millions years

I'll be the round about
The words will make you out 'n' out
I'll be the round about
The words will make you out 'n' out

I'll be the round about
The words will make you out 'n' out
And change the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

Well, guys, all wonderful songs and each has its own appeal.

Yes, Rex, love is the same and yet it's different. Love your "Roundabout".
dj, I think the DJ should have should have stopped with"....play US" <smile>

If you could be a song, folks, what would you be.

Me:

Is there a remedy for the passions of the soul
Brother if there is one I don't really know
Have I let my imagination run out of control
I'm a rainbow
Just a rainbow
Am I living here in this nameless state
Flight on darkness sound of silence
I just can't get it straight
See I don't wanna be no one that I ain't
I'm a rainbow
just a rainbow
And all the colors that you see
are all a part of me
In this crazy world of mine
Like the wind that blows
The trees are sailing for the breeze
Ever changing all the time
I'm a rainbow just a rainbow
ever changing all the time
I'm a rainbow colorful rainbow
Sometimes I shine
And all the colors that you see
are all a part of me
In this crazy world of mine
Like the wind that blows
The trees are sailing for the breeze
Ever changing all the time
da da da da da....
Like the wind that blows
The trees are sailing for the breeze
Ever changing all the time
I'm a rainbow just a rainbow
And sometimes I can shine
I'm a rainbow just a rainbow....
