Msolga. Fantastic. It's been a while since the WA2K listeners have seen that pert wink of yours. You did see the cat wink didn't you, audience?

And speaking of cats, listen to this:

Cat Survives 10-Mile Trip on Top of Car

2 hours, 24 minutes ago Top Stories - AP

INKOM, Idaho - Torri Hutchinson's cat might just have one less life to live. Hutchison was driving along Interstate 15 one day recently when a motorist kept trying to get her attention and pointing to the roof of her car.

She said she was wary of the man, but wondered if perhaps her ski rack might have come loose.

She pulled over to the side, but kept her doors locked and the motor running.

The man pulled up behind her. Hutchinson rolled down her window to hear the man frantically shouting, "Your cat! Your cat!"

He reached for the roof of her car and handed the shocked Hutchinson her orange tabby.

She had driven about 10 miles with the cat on top of the car, and didn't even notice the feline when she stopped for gas.

Hutchinson said Cuddle Bug, or C.B. for short, had climbed into the back of her car as she was getting ready to leave. She put him out, but he must have jumped on the roof while she wasn't looking, she said.

See what that cat, Msolga dragged in?

Trivia question. Could Will Scarlett's horse in Robin Hood be Trigger? Yes.

I thought Bob was kidding. But that really was Trigger that Olivia DeHavilland was riding in Robin Hood. That's what TCM host Robert Osborne said after the movie (which I still love after all these years.) I never dreamed that Trigger was that old. (lol)

March 4 BDs:

1678 Antonio Vivaldi, composer (Italy; died 1741)
1888 Knute Rockne, football coach (Voss, Norway; died 1931)
1921 Joan Greenwood, actress (London, England; died 1987)
1932 Miriam Makeba, singer/actress/political activist (Johannesburg, South Africa)
1934 Barbara McNair, singer/actress (Racine, WI)
1939 Paula Prentiss, actress (San Antonio, TX)
1944 Mary Wilson, singer and member of the Supremes (Detroit, MI)
1954 Catherine O'Hara, actress/comedian (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
1961 Steven Weber, actor (Queens, NY)
1966 Kevin Johnson, basketball player (Sacramento, CA)

Sorry I missed two birthday columns, but here are a couple quotes to make up for it:

"If you haven't got anything nice to say about anybody, come sit next to me."
- Alice Roosevelt Longworth (1884-1980)

"When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before."
- Mae West (1892-1980)

and Quote of the Day:

"You got to be careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there."
- Yogi Berra (1925-)

I guess you've all heard by now that Bubba, the lobster, died Wednesday afternoon at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium about a day after he was moved from Wholey's Market. Sad (Wholey's makes the best fish sandwiches in Pittsburgh. )

George, Today is command day--

And speaking of special days, March 17 is St. Patrick's Day. In the U.S. the day is a day for revelry, but in Ireland, it's a solemn religious observance.

Hmmm. Who among our audience is Irish, or of Irish descent?

Bibliophile--he's disappeared again
Misti--She's still talking about the weather
Smokingunne--hardly ever see him on the boards
Mikey--he's in Ireland

We will have to entice them back in the studios, methinks.

I'm of Irish descent.

In Boston, St. Patrick's Day is a legal holiday -- offically called
"Evacuation Day."

This holiday ostensibly commemorates the British evacuation of Boston
on March 17, 1776, one of the most encouraging early victories of the
nascent American Army during the Revolutionary War. During the
previous winter Henry Knox had transported a number of canon from Fort
Ticonderoga in western New York to Boston. Washington with his
commanders, mounted on horses, stood by the canons on Dorchester
Heights overlooking the city. Under the threat of bombardment, the
British troops quickly fled, making Boston the first major city
liberated from British occupation.

Raggedy. Great to see your celebs observance day. I do believe that the K in Knute is not silent. Love your quotes, and that horse Trigger really got around for a loooooggggggg time.

(Gus wanted you to know, Raggedy, there you were sorely missed in the trivia category. )

George, I didn't know that you were of Irish descent. What an interesting observation about Evacuation Day. A little bit of history mixed in with a little bit of Ireland.

Roy Rogers bought Trigger shortly after that film. And the rest as they say was history. I actually saw Trigger when Roy was at the old Boston Garden with the rodeo. My older sister was infatuated with Roy and shook hands with him. She was mesmerized and just froze. Roy smiled at her and calmly asked if he could have his hand back

One of the lines in that film always brought a chuckle from me. In the scene after Robin plopped a deer on the table and exchanged banter with Prince John, Maid Marion said to him "You speak treason." Robin replied "fluently."

Er.....if my observations of the Irish folks living in Manchester is anything to go by, St Paddy's Day is a day for a major piss-up.

These Irish know how to party.

Plenty of solemnity the day after, if you catch my drift. Laughing

I was worried sick about you, Raggedy. They told me you had been attacked by a killer whale.

I paced the floors at night. Good to see you back.

My word, there's Gus. Only Raggedy could have gotten that man in "over-hauls" in our studios.

Ah, Bob. What a neat story about Roy. And that Robin. What a classic come back. Loved it.

McTag, that remark about them Irish is probably a hang over from St. Patrick's having rid Ireland of all the herpetologists. As my Irish friend used to love saying:

God invented liquor so that the Irish wouldn't rule the world.

Dang it anyway. I hate it when those rumors get started. It was a giant lobster, Gus. Bubba was his name. Bit me on the finger when I got too curious at Wholey's Fish Market. Bubba's no longer with us.

Ah, that's right, Raggedy. I had forgotten about Bubba. I hope they buried his body at sea.

Let's see, listeners. How can we get some of our AWOL folks back into our studios. Perhaps a song dedication.

I told Francis that I would dedicate a song to him. Any other requests?

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.

It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you,
Until we meet again.
Happy trails to you,
Keep smilin' until then.

Who cares about the clouds when we'ere together?
Just sing a song, and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you,
Til we meet again.

This really does make me happy.

Friday. I sing tonight. I feel in a Neil Diamond frame of mind. Love on the Rocks.

Love on the Rocks
Neil Diamond
________

Love on the rocks
Ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink
And I'll tell you some lies
Got nothin' to lose
So you just sing the blues all the time

Gave you my heart
Gave you my soul
You left me alone here
With nothing to hold
Yesterday's gone
Now all I want is a smile

First, they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm
When they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say
You've got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

You need what you need
You can say what you want
Not much you can do
When the feeling is gone
May be blue skies above
But it's cold when you love's on the rocks

First, they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm
When they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say
You've got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

Love on the rocks
Ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink
And I'll tell you some lies
Yesterday's gone
And now all I want is a smile
