Good morning all.

I don't need coffee to start my heart pounding this A.M. Just the mention of Hawaii was enough. My favorite place. May you have a wonderful time, Yitwail.

I agree with Dys about Peter Sellers' performance in "Being There" . Catch it if you can, Letty. He was great in it.

Well, there's our Raggedy, folks. Marvelous pictures, as usual, PA. I may have seen "Being There", but not sure.

Thanks for Peter and Sid and Patsy and Virna?. Sid Caesar was one great comedian, too.

Well, folks. Time for a late morning breakfast.

Station break:

This is cyber space, WA2K radio.

Well, folks, this combines Walter's and yitwails songs, I think, and it is one lovely melody:

Angels come to paint the desert nightly
When the moon is beaming brightly
Along the Santa Fe Trail
Stardust scattered all along the highway
On a rainbow-colored skyway
Along the Santa Fe Trail

Beside you
I'm riding every hill and dale
Wide shadows hide you
Just like a pretty purple veil
Thereby hangs a tale

I found you
And the mountains that surround you
Are the wall I built around you
Along the Santa Fe trail...

And for our resident royalty, L.E.:

Beatles
» With A Little Help From My Friends

Verse 1
What would you do if I sang out of tune would you
stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song and I'll
try not to sing out of key. Oh..
Chorus
I get by with a little help from my friends. Mm, I get
high with a little help from my friends. Mm, I'm gonna
try with a little help from my friends.
Verse 2
What do I do when my loveis away, does it
worry you to be alone?
How do I feel by the end of the day, are you
sad because you're on your own? No..
(Chorus)
Do you need anybody? I need somebody to love. Could it
be anybody? I want somebody to love.
Verse 3
Would youbelive in a love at first sight? Yes, I'm
certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't
tell you but I know it's mine. Oh..

Do you need anybody? I need somebody to love. Could it
be anybody? I want somebody to love.
Verse 3
Would youbelive in a love at first sight? Yes, I'm
certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't

Odd, folks. I was participating on brandon's forum involving little used, but "educated" words, and then I did some research on the movie, "Being There."

Quotes from that movie made me realize how intelligent the least of us can be, and how dense the best of us may seem to others.

President "Bobby": Life is a state of mind.
Morton Hull: Do you realize that more people will be watching you tonight, than all those who have seen theater plays in the last forty years?
Chance the Gardener: Why?

[Thomas and Johanna are watching Chance's interview on TV]
Thomas Franklin: It's that gardener.
Johanna, girl with Franklin: Yes, Chauncey Gardiner.
Thomas Franklin: No, he's a real gardener.
Johanna, girl with Franklin: He does talk like one. I think he's brilliant.

[Upon walking out of an elevator]
Chance the Gardener: That was a very small room.

Eva, Where have you been, girl? I will most certainly try; speaking of which, Where is our Try?

Well, listeners, we have a lot to celebrate here on our little radio. The yitwails are off to Hawaii. Our edgar is having a birthday this month. Our Raggedy finally found Japanese Sandman, and we have passed 25,000 contributions.

Thanks, everyone for keep us on the air

Oh, I've been around.

(Hey, cut that out!)

Last week I volunteered to help SonofEva's school start a school newspaper, and what I thought would be "helping" quickly turned into teaching a regular class three days a week. It turns out I am in charge of the class, Letty! They didn't interview me, ask for lesson plans or anything! Anyway, it has been eating up a lot of my time, but I am enjoying it. I will probably be there at least until the launch (a couple of months.) Sorry I haven't checked in here much lately.

Wonderful, Eva. When you can, tell us more. Teaching is one of the most noble jobs on this planet. I know it won't put us in Fortune 500, but it is gratifying if one child learns one thing.

For our Eva:

88 Fingers Louie
» Newspaper

Sunday's morning paper told me my luck's gonna change
If I could only learn to act my age would I keep from sleeping
Things I read the things I hear my lesson instead I stay so gullible
Monday morning's paper told me the world is gonna end
I don't need time to gather up my friends cause I haven't any
Things I read the things I hear, it all seems so incredible
You'd think by now I'd learn my lesson
Instead I stay so gullible, I'm gullible
Things I read the things I hear, it all seems so incredible
You'd think by now I'd learn my lesson, instead I stay so gullible.

er, I just misspelled keeping in big red letters. I wonder what happened to all those carefully honed skills of elementary school.

Well, no matter, Eva and folks. I read Gullible's Travels at an early age.

Identify this quote:

"I'm sorry that I spelled the word; I hate to go above you, because (the brown eyes lower fell)because you see, I love you."

Good morning one & all & if I don't see you again today, good afternoon & good evening.

I haven't seen "Being There" but I remeber it got good reviews.

My 3 all time faveorite movies all come from my teenage years.

They are

#1 "High Noon" - Gary Cooper playing the part of Mr. Cool against
vengeful gunslingers.
Grace Kelly in for decoration.

#2 "African Queen" - To my mind, simply the best movie parts ever
played by Katherine Hepburn and
Humphry Bogart. Lovely story, lovely
everthing

#3 "The Girl Can't Help It" - Simply the best rock & roll movie ever
made. I can better that ----
THE BEST MUSICAL MOVIE EVER MADE.

These 3 movies are the main reason I built a career in the movie industry. The nearest I got to working on anything approaching these 3, was a Disney prod called Third Man On The Mount & starring James McArther who went on to play Danno in Hawai 5.0

Well, I just got a smoke signal from London town, so here's a song for John:

Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino
I found my thrill on blueberry hill
On blueberry hill when I found you
The moon stood still on blueberry hill
And lingered until my dreams came true

The wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of those vows we made
Were never to be

Tho' we're apart, you're part of me still
For you were my thrill on blueberry hill

The wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of those vows we made
Were never to be

Tho' we're apart, you're part of me still
For you were my thrill on blueberry hill

You're welcome, John. I guess Fats is still with us. Amazing that he survived Katrina.

Hmmm. I believe the first song that I ever heard by Fats is, I'm Walking:

Fats Domino
» I'm Walking

I'm walkin'
yes indeed
I'm talkin'
'bout you and me
I'm hopin
that you'll come back to me
I'm lonley
As I can be
I'm waiting for your company
I'm hopin that you'll come back to me
What you gonna do when the well run dry
You gonna run away and hide
I'm gonna run right by your side
For you pretty baby I'd even die
I'm walkin'
yes indeed
I'm talkin'
'bout you and me
I'm hopin
that you'll come back to me
I'm walkin'
yes indeed
I'm talkin'
'bout you and me
I'm hopin
that you'll come back to me
I'm lonly
As I can be
I'm waiting for your company
I'm hopin'
that you'll come back to me
What you gotta do when the well run dry
You gonna sit right down and cry
What you gonna do when I say bye bye
All you're gonna do is dry your eye
I'm walkin'
yes indeed
I'm talkin'
'bout you and me
I'm hopin
that you'll come back to me

Indeed, John.

In looking at the Where Am I forum I thought of this wonderful play from the theater of the absurd:

Rhinoceros
by Eugene Ionesco

Anyone ever read that one?

and speaking of absurd, folks:

Rhino Bucket
» Ride The Rhino

Little girl had a love affair
Liked a boy with long, long hair
Daddy came with a gun
Said the evening's done
Ride, ride the rhino
Ride, ride the rhino
Little sister in leather and lace
Took a boy home too her place
Big brother came with a baseball bat
Party ended just like that
Just like that
Ride, ride the rhino
Ride, ride the rhino
Ride it hard, ride it fast
Ride it slow, make it last
Ride, ride the rhino
Ride the rhino.

Talking about walking Letty, one of my favourite songs was by the late crooner Johnny Ray:

WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME

GEE BUT IT'S GREAT AFTER STAYING OUT LATE
WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME
ARM IN ARM OVER MEADOW AND FARM
WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME

WE GO ALONG HARMONISING A SONG
OR I'M RECITING A POEM
THE HOURS GO BY AND THEY GAVE ME THE EYE
WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME

AND WE STOP FOR A WHILE, SHE GIVES ME A SMILE
AND CUDDLES HER CHEEK TO MY CHEST
AND WE START IN TO PET AND THAT'S WHEN I GET
HER POWDER ALL OVER MY VEST

AND JUST WHEN I TRY TO STRAIGHTEN MY TIE
SHE WANTS TO BORROW MY COMB
ONE KISS AND THEN WE CONTINUE AGAIN
WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME

WE STOP FOR A WHILE, SHE GIVES ME A SMILE
AND CUDDLES HER CHEEK TO MY CHEST
WE START IN TO PET AND THAT'S WHEN I GET
HER POWDER ALL OVER MY VEST

AND JUST WHEN I TRY TO STRAIGHTEN MY TIE
SHE WANTS TO BORROW MY COMB
ONE KISS AND THEN WE GOT TO DO IT AGAIN
WALKING MY BABY BACK HOME
