I use "I Tunes" and I have loaded all my music on a computer - a setup that gives me near instant access to a very large library. I am listening to theis suff as we go. Great!

Hey, Walter. I didn't realize that you liked Hank. Love that one, buddy. That man was a composing genius.

Well, listeners. Our dys has come up with a couple that Letty has never heard. How did that happen, cowboy?

Bet you don't know this one, but Try does:

In the land of San Domingo
Lived a girl called Oh By Jingo
(Ta da, ya da da da da da, um-pa, umpa um-pa um-pa)
From the fields and from the marshes
Came the young and old by goshes.
(Ta da, &c.)
They all spoke with a different lingo
But they all loved Oh By Jingo
And every night
They sang by the pale moon light

Oh By Gee, By Gosh, By Gum, by Jove,
Oh By Jingo, won't you hear our love!
We will build for you a hut
You will be our favorite nut.
We'll have a lot of little Oh By Gollies
Then we'll put them in the Follies.
By Jingo said, By Gosh By Gee-ee,
By Jimminy, please don't bother me.
So they all went away singing
Oh By Gee, by gosh, By Gum, By Jove, By Jingo,
Oh, By Gee, you're the only girl for me.

Oh By Jingo had a lover
He was always under cover.
(Ta da, &c.)
Every night she used to meet him.
Oh how nice she used to treat him.
(Ta da, &c.)
They eloped, but they both were collared,
And the gang stood there and hollered:
"Don't raise a fuss,
You've got to take one of us!"

Oh by Gee, by Gosh, by Gum, by Jove
Oh! By Jingo, won't you take our love?
We will live out in a tent
Cheat the landlord of his rent
We'll have lots of little Jimminy Crickets
We can use them for meal tickets!
By Jingo said, Oh boys, won't you behave
You know I've put five husbands in the grave.
So they all went away singing
Oh by Gee, by Gosh, by Gum, by Jingo,
Oh by Gee! You're the only girl for me.

Oh by Gee by Gosh by Gum by Jove
Oh By Jingo won't you hear our love?
We will build for you a still
We'll make whiskey on the hill
We'll have a lot of little liquor beggars
They'll grow up to be bootleggers!
By Jingo said now boys, don't rave
You know I've put six husbands in the grave.
So they all went away singing
Oh by Gee, by Gosh, by Gum, by Jove, by Jingo;
Oh by Gee, you're not the girl for me.

Aren't you glad that you didn't know it? Razz

Well, folks, as George and Walter exchange techie stuff, how about some background music.

Aerosmith
» Once Is Enough

Been lucked out
Broke a woman's heart
With only myself to blame
Fate ran its course
I suffered a loss
I learned a lesson in pain

Cheated, lied
I took love for granted
Oh, I paid the price
I won't last a night
I won't make the same mistake twice

Once Is Enough, it's one time too many
The changes are rough, oh, Once Is Enough

Love went through such sudden change
Taken a turn for the worst
The joy turned to fear
The pain got so severe
Lord, I thought I was cursed

Get what you give
It comes around full circle
Oh, I paid the price
Love so fast
I won't make the same mistake twice

Once Is Enough, it's one time too many
Changes are rough, oh, Once Is Enough
Changes are rough, oh, Once Is Enough

Is this the song our P.D. is looking for?

(Words by Al Stillman and Music by Ernesto Lecuona)

[Music written in 1929 as a piano piece called "Andaluza" - part of the Andalucia Suite by the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona]

The breeze and I are saying with a sigh
That you no longer care
The breeze and I are whispering goodbye
To dreams we used to share

Ours was a love song that seemed constant as the moon
Ending in a strange, mournful tune
And all about me, they know you have departed without me
And we, we wonder why, the breeze and I
The breeze and I

and remembering birthday celebrities Brock Peters and Ken Curtis:

Well, there's our Raggedy, the saver of lost dreams. Yes, PA. that is the one. It does make a difference about the background, honey. Thank you so much. That is a beautiful song, and the nice thing about knowing it without benefit of cd is that it's quite cheap and always on file.<smile>

If anyone here has read To Kill a Mockingbird, or seen the movie, they will certainly know Brock Peters, and I guess that Ken Curtis shuffled along with Mr. Dillon.

The sun is diminishing as we play, and soon the dark will be on its way.

The sun is sinking low,
Beyond the hills,
I loved you long ago,
I love you still

When suddenly,
There comes to me at twilight,
The song of love's old thrill.

When the deep purple falls,
Over sleepy garden walls
And the stars begin to flicker in the sky.
Through the mist of a memory,
You wander back to me,
Breathing my name with a sigh.
Through the still of the night,
Once again I hold you tight,
Though you're gone my love lives on
Through moonlight beams.

And as long as my heart shall beat,
Lover we'll always meet,
Here in my deep purple dreams.

Well, Try. I am glad all is well with your equipment. <smile> Danny Kaye did that song? Well, no wonder my sister knew it. I think it's the melody that's kinda catchy, buddy. So The Boss tells us to follow the dream and I'm thinking how I can follow that one.

How about one from Brigadoon:

» Almost Like Being In Love

Writers: Lerner/Loewe

What a day this has been
What a rare mood I'm in
Why it's almost like being in love
There's a smile on my face
For the whole human race
Why it's almost like being in love
All the music of life seems to be
(Just) Like a bell that is ringing for me
And from the way that I feel
When the bell starts to peel
I would swear I was falling, I could swear I was falling
- It's almost like being in love

Queen
Las Palabras De Amor (The Words Of Love)
Words and music by Brian May

Don't touch me now
Don't hold me now
Don't break the spell darling
Now you are near
Look in my eyes and speak to me
The special promises I long to hear

Las palabras de amor
Let me hear the words of love
Despacito mi amor
Love me slow and gently

One foolish world so many souls
Senselessly hurled through
The never ending cold
And all for fear and all for greed
Speak any tongue
But for God's sake we need

Las palabras de amor
Let me hear the words of love
Despacito mi amor
Let me know this night and evermore

This room is bare
This night is cold
We're far apart and I'm growing old
But while we live
We'll meet again
So then my love
We may whisper once more
It's you I adore

Las palabras de amor
Let me hear the words of love
Despacito mi amor
Touch me now
Las palabras de amor
Let us share the words of love
For evermore evermore
For evermore

Ah, Try. The words of love. I always think of this one, folks, when I wonder about how looks betray the person. There are people who can read body language.

The Look Of Love
(From the album "BEST OF DUSTY SPRINGFIELD")

The look of love
Is in your eyes
The look your smile can't disguise
The look of love
Is saying so much more
Than just words could ever say
And what my heart has heard
Well it takes my breath away

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you

You've got the look of love
It's on your face
A look that time can't erase
Be mine tonight
Let this be just the start
Of so many nights like this
Let's take a lover's vow
And then seal it with a kiss

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go
Don't ever go
I love you so

It's Only Love
The Beatles

I get high when I see you go by, my, oh, my
When you sigh, my mind inside just flies
Butterflies

Why am I so shy
When I'm beside you
It's only love and that is all
Why should I feel the way I do
It's only love and that is all
But it's so hard
Loving you

Is it right when you and I should fight
Every night
Just the sight of you makes nighttime bright
Very bright

Haven't I the right to make it up, girl

It's only love and that is all
Why should I feel the way I do
It's only love and that is all
But it's so hard
Loving you
It's to hard
Loving you
Loving you

edgar, the Beatles often surprise me at their insight. Your song I had never heard, but it's rather persuasive. This line gave me cause for pause:

It's only love and that is all. Odd, no?

Well, folks, I just heard my first fire cracker. It's beginning, I guess.

wishing you all a good night !
listen to dan hill and "whiskey sour" ; i'm sure it help you sleep better .
hbg

WHISKEY SOUR
------------------
Hand me down another whiskey sour
I'm a willing victim to its spell
And i just can't rebel
I'm far too thirsty and too tired
Hold me like you'd hold a broken soldier
Who's forgotten the meaning of war
Please don't' close that door
I'm about as pure as a children's choir

Chorus:
Sunshine
Can you spread your warmth over me

Chase the clouds from the sky casually
Make me feel like a child
Once again
Sunshine
How does it feel lost in the sky
Is it dizzy looking down from that high
Well you know
You've always got a friend

One more drink and this day'll be over
I can already feel the cold
My jacket i sold
For fifteen dollars worth of booze
One more drink and i'll be off on some
Rainbow
Looking down at this world below
I'm so high that i'm low
But this is the only life i'd choose

G'MOOOOOOOOORNIN' UUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAA!

The sun is just rising in a clear blue sky. It's nice and cool out there for now, but it's going to be a hot one, here in the UK.

Here's a song to sum up my mood at the moment..................

YOUR SONG (Elton John/Bernie Taupin)

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Morning everyone!

It's 7.00am in manchester, sun's shining here to.

A song for a very special person:

Donovan
Catch The Wind

In the chilly hours and minutes
Of uncertainty
I want to be
In the warm hold of your loving mind.
To feel you all around me
And to take your hand
Along the sand
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind.
When sundown pales the sky
I wanna hide a while
Behind your smile
And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find.
For me to love you now
Would be the sweetest thing,
T'would make me sing
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind.
Dee dee da da la da da da da da
Ya da da, da da, da da
When rain has hung the leaves with tears
I want you near
To kill my fears
To help me to leave all my blues behind.
For standing in your heart
Is where I wanna be
And I long to be,
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind.
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind
...

We had a party last night. Here are my reflections on what transpired.

First Party At Ken Kesey's With Hell's Angels

Cool black night thru redwoods
cars parked outside in shade
behind the gate, stars dim above
the ravine, a fire burning by the side
porch and a few tired souls hunched over
in black leather jackets. In the huge
wooden house, a yellow chandelier
at 3 A.M. the blast of loudspeakers
hi-fi Rolling Stones Ray Charles Beatles
Jumping Joe Jackson and twenty youths
dancing to the vibration thru the floor,
a little weed in the bathroom, girls in scarlet
tights, one muscular smooth skinned man
sweating dancing for hours, beer cans
bent littering the yard, a hanged man
sculpture dangling from a high creek branch,
children sleeping softly in their bedroom bunks.
And 4 police cars parked outside the painted
gate, red lights revolving in the leaves.

Actually, that was Ginsberg. I decided to post my latest addition to the Ginsberg thread here this AM.

December 1965

Good morning WA2K radio fans and contributors.

First, allow me to tell hamburger that a whiskey sour used to be my cocktail of choice; however, Canada, aspirin seems to work better for me now. Thanks, buddy, for that goodnight song.

My goodness, how wonderful to see our Lord back again with a weather report and a great Sir Elton song. Know that one, Brit and like it.

Walter, I don't know from nothing about the World Cup, but a broad smile for you and your champs. I know that it means a lot to you and your country.

Hey, Sarah. Lovely song, gal. Hmmmm. and just who is that special someone, dear? Whoever, he is quite fortunate.

Wow! listeners. Our edgar is really into the beat bunch. Hope that party wasn't a wild one, Texas.

The wildest thing Letty is going to do today is have a cup of regular old coffee. Back later.
