I am passing the mountains,
I am also passing the seas,
I love someone.
I am carrying two wishes,
I am also carrying two vows.
I walk and head.
CHORUS
Someone said that Love dwells in a star.
I'll be there tomorrow night.
Someone said that Eros* is a rush of the moment.
Oh! Tomorrow night is going to be late.
I am talking to the birds,
And I am singing to the trees.
I love someone.
When I sing,
I rave prayers.
I walk and head.
Someone said that the road is the vein of the fire.
My soul, you should always flow.
Someone said that the only journey is the prayer.
My soul, you should be alive.
CHORUS
Eros: In this case - the love between two people of the opposite sex.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.
Rex, that was a lovely and moving song by Peter, Paul, and Mary, especially the highlighted part. Thanks, Maine.
Ellinas, what delightful music to begin the day. Yes, eros is good at putting two together, no? Thank you, Greece.
It's good to be able to tell our audience that our hawkman is fine, just working long hours and having some pc problems.
Ahhhh. No matter the muggy weather here, hot coffee is a welcome beverage. <smile>

You are reffering to the personification of Eros I guess. Eros as a word means love between man and woman. As agape means love in general (can be between two people of the same sex).

Ellinas, believe it. I do know that the Greeks have a word for it. <smile>I understand, as do our listeners, that there are several levels of loves, dear, but it is always nice to have you explain it for us.
And to begin the day, listeners:
Hope
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

talking about the band rem on the music forum, here's a fine example of some of mr stipes more lucid lyrics
World Leader Pretend
I sit at my table and wage war on myself
It seems like it's all...it's all for nothing
I know the barricades, and
I know the mortar in the wall breaks
I recognize the weapons, I used them well
This is my mistake. Let me make it good
I raised the wall, and I will be the one to knock it down
I've a rich understanding of my finest defenses
I proclaim that claims are left unstated,
I demand a rematch
I decree a stalemate
I divine my deeper motives
I recognize the weapons
I've practiced them well. I fitted them myself
It's amazing what devices you can sympathize...empathize
This is my mistake. Let me make it good
I raised the walls, and I will be the one to knock it down
Reach out for me and hold me tight. Hold that memory
Let my machine talk to me. Let my machine talk to me
This is my world
And I am world leader pretend
This is my life
And this is my time
I have been given the freedom
To do as I see fit
It's high time I've razed the walls
That I've constructed
It's amazing what devices you can sympathize...emapathize
This is my mistake. Let me make it good
I raised the walls, and I will be the one to knock it down
You fill in the mortar. You fill in the harmony
You fill in the mortar. I raised the walls
And I'm the only one
I will be the one to knock it down

Great song by rem, dj. Seems to be making a statement, Canada. Somehow, that melody reminds me of Frost's "Mending Wall".
"....good fences make good neighbors..."
Thank you, dear.

She looked me over
And I guess she thought
I was all right
All right in a sort of a limited way
For an off-night
She said dont I know you
From the cinematographers party
I said who am i
To blow against the wind
I know what I know
Ill sing what I said
We come and we go
Thats a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
She said theres something about you
That really reminds me of money
She is the kind of a girl
Who could say things that
Werent that funny
I said what does that mean
I really remind you of money
She said who am i
To blow against the wind
I know what I know
Ill sing what I said
We come and we go
Thats a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
She moved so easily
All I could think of was sunlight
I said arent you the women
Who was recently given a fulbright
She said dont I know you
From the cinematographers party
I said who am i
To blow against the wind
I know what I know
Ill sing what I said
We come and we go
Thats a thing that I keep
In the back of my head

Well, folks, there's our cowboy among some of his worst friends here in our little radio station. <smile>
Hmmm, dys. That song seems to refer to the relationship between a woman of means who doesn't have a clue, and a man who do.
This poem is for Walter and Ellinas, folks.
Agape:
Only through beauty's morning-gate
did you penetrate the land of knowledge.
Before it becomes accustomed to greater brilliance,
the understanding must practice on allurements:
the sound of the muses' strings
courses through you with sweet trembling,
nourishing the strength within your breast
that later soars to the soul of the world.
What aging reason found only
once millennia had run their course,
already lay revealed to the childish mind
in the symbol of the beautiful and great.
Her lovely image bid us to love virtue;
the gentle soul did battle against evil
before some Solon ever wrote down laws,
whose methodical cultivation yields colorless blossoms.
Long before the idea of infinite space
stood clearly in the philosopher's mind,
who could gaze at the starry theater,
and not immediately intuit it?
"Nur durch das Morgentor des Schönen
Drangst du in der Erkenntnis Land.
An höhern Glanz sich zu gewöhnen,
Übt sich am Reize der Verstand.
Was bei dem Saitenklang der Musen
Mit Süssem Beben dich durchdrang,
Erzog die Kraft in deinem Busen,
Die sich dereinst zum Weltgeist schwang.
Was erst, nachdem Jahrtausende verflossen,

Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
Shel Silverstein

edgar, the lyrics to that song are breathtaking, Texas. "asphalt flowers"...what imagery. Thanks, buddy.
Well, listeners, we miss the Brits, but I'm certain that they're celebrating the 4th. <smile> and who knows where France is.
Here is a song, listeners, from J.M.
John Mellencamp
China girl, I met you on the sea sand.
You touched me with your cool hand.
Your perfume's in the wind.
China girl, your daddy tells you white lies
To keep you from by blue eyes.
To know me is no sin.
[Chorus:]
And I won't break you, China girl,
If you take me into your world.
It's been my good fortune to find you,
China girl.
Stolen flowers are sweetest in the mornin'.
The Eastern sun is dawnin'.
Your silk's against my skin.
China girl, take me to your jasmine place.
Cool me with your subtle grace.
To know me is no sin.
[Chorus:]
And I won't break you, China girl,
If you take me into your world.
It's been my good fortune to find you,
China girl.

Since it's really nice summer weather since a couple of days, here my two favourite summer songs ... from times, long ago ...
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
In the summertime when the weather is fine
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find
If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a ton or a ton an' twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good in a lay-by
We're no threat, people
We're not dirty, we're not mean
We love everybody but we do as we please
When the weather's fine
We go fishin' or go swimmin' in the sea
We're always happy
Life's for livin' yeah, that's our philosophy
Sing along with us
Dee dee dee-dee dee
Dah dah dah-dah dah
Yeah we're hap-happy
Dah dah-dah
Dee-dah-do dee-dah-do dah-do-dah
Dah-do-dah-dah-dah
Dah-dah-dah do-dah-dah
When the winter's here, yeah it's party time
Bring your bottle, wear your bright clothes
It'll soon be summertime
And we'll sing again
We'll go drivin' or maybe we'll settle down
If she's rich, if she's nice
Bring your friends and we'll all go into town
In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find
If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a ton or a ton an' twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good in a lay-by
We're no threat, people
We're not dirty, we're not mean
We love everybody but we do as we please
When the weather's fine
We go fishin' or go swimmin' in the sea
We're always happy
Life's for livin' yeah, that's our philosophy
Sing along with us
Dee dee dee-dee dee
Dah dah dah-dah dah
Yeah we're hap-happy
Dah dah-dah

Dah-dah-dah do-dah-dah

Walter, welcome back, Germany. I do know your first song, and like it. Thanks.
The second one has a familiar ring. It sounds as though our Walter can accept any season without rancor or depression, right?
One of my favorites, folks:
Indigo Girls' version:
Summertime
Summertime
And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
The cotton is high
Oh your daddy's rich
Your mama's good looking
I said hush little baby
Don't you cry
One of these mornings
You're bound to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And take to the sky
But til that morning
Nothing's going to harm you no
With daddy and mama standing by
Summertime
(sweet summertime)
And the living is easy
(living is easy)
Fish are jumping
The cotton is high
(sky high)
Oh your daddy's rich
(your daddy's rich)
And your mama's good looking
(your mama's good looking)
I said hush little baby
Don't you cry
Don't you cry
(don't you cry)
Summertime
(sweet summertime)
Summertime
(sweet summertime)
Summertime

In the summertime, when all the trees and leaves are green
And the redbird sings, I'll be blue
'cause you don't want my love ...
Some other time, that's what you say, when I want you
Then you laugh at me and make me cry
'cause you don't want my love.
You don't seem to care a thing about me
You'd rather live without me, than to have my arms around you
When the nights are cold and you're so all alone
In the summertime, when all the trees and leaves are green
And the redbird sings, I'll be blue
'cause you don't want my love.
Once upon a time, you used to smile and wave to me
And walk with me, but now you don't
'cause you don't want my love ...
Some other guy is takin' up all your time
Now you don't have time for me
'cause you don't want my love.
You don't seem to care a thing about me
You'd rather live without me, than to have my arms around you
When the nights are cold and you're so all alone
In the summertime, when all the trees and leaves are green
And the redbird sings, I'll be blue
'cause you don't want my love.

Summertime Blues
(Eddie Cochran)
Well I'm gonna raise a fuss
And I'm gonna raise a holler
About workin' all summer
Just tryin' to earn a dollar
Well, I went to my boss
Who governs me
He said, "No, dice, bud
You gotta work late"
Sometime I wonder
What I'm gonnna do
There ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Well, my mom and papa told me
Now you better earn some money
If one of you is gonna go
Ridin' next Sunday
Well, I didn't go to work
I told my boss I was sick
He said, "You can't use the car
'Cause you didn't work a lick"
Sometime I wonder
What I'm gonnna do
There ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Gonna save two weeks
Gonna have a fine vacation
Gonna take my problem
To the United Nations
Well, I went to my congressman
He sent me back a note
It said, "I''d like to help you, hon
But you're too young to vote"
Sometime I wonder
What I'm gonnna do
There ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Now there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Now there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues

well a new month, a new avatar, location and signature
a few months back i picked up the twin peaks dvd set and have just recently started watching them
here's a tune from the series
Falling
David Lynch (lyrics)
Angelo Badalamenti (music)
Julee Cruise (vocals)
Don't let yourself be hurt this time.
Don't let yourself be hurt this time.
Then I saw your face
Then I saw your smile
The sky is still blue
The clouds come and go
Yet something is different
Are we falling in love?
Don't let yourself be hurt this time.
Don't let yourself be hurt this time.
Then your kiss so soft
Then your touch so warm
The stars still shine bright
The mountains still high
Yet something is different
Are we falling in love?
Falling
Falling
Are we falling in love?

dys, I swear, the meter to that song is soooooo off, but you know that, of course. Hey, cowboy. We listen to 'em all even if we have to pat our feet to keep the proper time.
Speaking of time, listeners:
Time after time,
I tell myself that I'm
So lucky to be loving you.
So lucky to be,
The one you come to see
In the evening when the day is through.
I only know what I know,
The passing years will show,
You've made my love so young, so new.
And time after time,
You'll hear me say that I'm
So lucky to be loving you.
Hey, that was from Letty's memory lobe.

Letty, a nice summer song by Seals & Crofts, though i prefer the Isley Bros. version:
See the curtains hanging in the window
In the evening on a Friday night
A little light a-shining through the window
Lets me know everything's alright
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
See the paper lying on the sidewalk
A little music from the house next door
So I walk on up to the door step
Through the screen and across the floor
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom
July is dressed up and playing her tune
When I come home from a hard days work
And you're waiting there, not a care in the world
See the smile a-waiting in the kitchen
Food cooking and the plates for two
Feel the arms that reach out to hold me
In the evening when the day is through
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind

Ah, Mr. turtle. Welcome back. Now that is a summer breeze that Letty needs to feel. Love it, M.D. and I can hear the melody.
Here's a breeze song from the South.
Breeze
J. J. Cale
Call me the breeze
I keep blowin' down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin' down the road
I ain't got me nobody
I don't carry me no load
Ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no changes in me
Well there ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no changes in me
And I ain't hidin' from nobody
Nobody's hidin' from me
Oh, that's the way its supposed to be
Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin' on
Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin' on
Well I might go out to California
Might go down to Georgia
I don't know
Well I dig you Georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
Well now I dig you Georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
But I don't love me no one woman
So I can't stay in Georgia long
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin' down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin' down the road
I ain't got me nobody
I don't carry me no load
Oooh Mr Breeze
