Hydroponic tomatoes, dj? UhOh. Razz Love your reggae, especially this line:

"Dreadlocks can't smoke him pipe in peace
Too much informers and too much fears
Too much watchie watchie watchie, too much su-su su-su su
Too much watchie watchie watchie, too much su-su su-su su"

Here's another kind of peace pipe, listeners, from Gene and Fred:

A MEDICINE MAN I MET
SAID DON'T GET YOURSELF IN A SWEAT.
WHEN THINGS LOOK GRAY,
JUST SHRUG AND SAY:
"IT MUSTA BEEN SOMETHIN' I ET!"
"SO DON'T GET YOURSELF IN A SNIT, " HE SAID,
"TUCK YOUR TANTRUMS INTO YOUR KIT INSTEAD.
"IT'S DISARMING TO BE CHARMING,"
QUOTH THE MEDICINE MAN,
WHOM ALL AGREE IT'S PLAIN TO SEE
NOBODY COULD BE WISER THAN.

SO IF YOUR TEMPER'S GETTING A TOP HAND,
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST STOP AND
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE AND BURY THAT HATCHET
LIKE THE CHOCTAWS, CHICKASAWS,
CHATTAHOOCHEES, CHIPPEWAS DO.

IF YOU'RE FEELING MAD AS A WET HEN,
MAD AS YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET, THEN
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE, BURY THAT TOMAHAWK
LIKE THOSE CHICHAMECKS, CHEROKEES,
CHAPULTEPECS DO.
THAT COLD SHOULDER NEVER SOLVED A SINGLE COMPLAINT.
WHEN YOU'RE OLDER, YOU'LL WIPE OFF ALL OF THAT WAR
PAINT.

IF YOU FIND YOURSELF IN A FURY,
BE YOUR OWN JUDGE AND YOUR OWN JURY.
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE AND BURY THAT HATCHET
LIKE THE CHOCTAWS, CHICKASAWS,
CHATTAHOOCHEES, CHIPPEWAS DO.

IF YOU WANT TO HOVER OUT WEST, TOO,
YOU WILL SOON DISCOVER IT'S BEST TO
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE AND BURY THAT HATCHET
LIKE THE CHOKTOHS, CHANGOS,
CHATTANOOGAS, CHEEKAROHS DO.

EVEN IN COLONIAL DAYS, YOU
KNOW THE CEREMONIAL WAYS TO
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE AND BURY THAT TOMAHAWK
LIKE THOSE CHAKOOTAMEES, CHEPACHEPS
'N' CHICOPEES, TOO.
PULL YOUR EARS IN, TRY TO USE A LITTLE CONTROL.
WHEN "ALL CLEAR"'S IN, YOU'LL BE TOP MAN ON THE TOTEM
POLE.

SO, IF YOU WANNA BE AN ALL-RIGHT GUY --
NOT A LONG FACE, BLUES-IN-THE-NIGHT GUY --
WRITE THAT APOLOGY AND DISPATCH IT!
WHEN YOU QUARREL, IT'S GRAND TO PATCH IT!
PASS THAT PEACE PIPE AND BURY THAT HATCHET
LIKE THOSE CHOCTAWS, CHICKASAWS,
CHATTAHOOCHEES, CHIPPEWAS
AND THOSE CHICHAMECKS, CHEROKEES,
CHAPULTEPECS
AND THOSE CHAKOOTAMEES, CHEPACHEPS
'N' CHICOPEES, CHOKTOHS, CHANGOS,
CHATTANOOGAS, CHEEKAROHS DO-O-O-O

Listeners, the Soca Warriors have an enormous following at work ... and I've learned that some of my new belly-dancing isolations work well with soca Cool Don't be startled if you see me practicing in the studio.

Doctor My Eyes
Jackson Brown

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
Through the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand

I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can

Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long

cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
Ive been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That its later than it seems

Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what you see
I hear their cries
Just say if its too late for me

Doctor, my eyes
Cannot see the sky
Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry

GOOD M-O-O-O-O-O-O-R-N-ING USA!

It's a bright blue sky here this morning, and although a trifle windy, it looks set to be a fine day.
The sun is in the sky, the birds are tweeting and my socks are full of feet, so everything's hunky dory.

Just as a matter of interest, I am now posting this song, in memory of this........

FLOWERS IN THE RAIN - (by The Move)

Woke up one morning half asleep
With all my blankets in a heap
And yellow roses scattered all around
The time was still approaching
For I couldn't stand it anymore
Some marigolds upon my eiderdown

I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow
I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me good

So I lay upon my side
With all the windows open wide
Couldn't pressurize my head from speaking
Hoping not to make a sound
I pushed my bed into the grounds
In time to catch the sight that I was seeking

I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow
I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me good

If this perfect pleasure has to be
Then this is paradise to me
If my pillow's getting wet
I can't see that it matters much to me

I heard the flowers in the trees
Make conversation with the trees
Relieved to leave reality behind me
With my commitments in a mess
My sleep is not a way of rest
In a world of fantasy you'll find me

I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow
I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me good

Watching flowers in the rain
Flower in the rain
Power flowers in the rain
Flower power in the rain................

"I Live For You" Lyrics

You touch my hand
I live for you
Because your eyes they understand
I live for you

Come to me
Lay your body down
I won't deny you anything
Look at me
I feel so different now
You're the one I cry to

You're all around me
I breathe you in like air
Your arms have found me
Like waves that find the sand
And baby I'll be there...

You touch my hand
I live for you
Because your eyes they understand
I live for you
In my life
You come through
I live for, I live for
I live for you

Walk with me
The future's in the wind
Though the road is winding
I'll be near
Talk to me (talk to me)
Tell me all your fears
I'm the one you cry to

You call me lover
And tell me I'm your life
I won't run for cover
I've shown you who I am
And in the darkest night...

You touch my hand
I live for you
Because your eyes they understand
I live for you
In my life
You come through
I live for, I live for
I live for you

In your arms
I come alive (I live for you), (I live for you)
In my life
I am free
No one could ever understand what you do to me

You touch my hand
I live for you
Because your eyes they understand
I live for you
In my life
You come through
I live for, I live for
I live for you

You hear my soul
So deep in you
Nobody knows the things you know
I live for you
In my life
You come through
I live for, I live for, I live for
I live for you
I live for you
I live for you..

Some more prosaic lyrics

Ooh, I can't stand still ..... with the hippy hippy shake,
Yeahhh, I get my thrill now ..... with the hippy hippy shake,
Yeahhh, it's in the bag ..... Ooh, the hippy hippy shake.

Chorus:
Well now you shake it to the left ..... you shake it to the right,
You do the hippy shake shake ..... with all your might ... oh baby,
Yeahhh, come'on and shake ..... awww, it's in the bag,
Oooh, the hippy hippy shake.

(SOLO)

Well now you shake it to the left ..... you shake it to the right,
You do the hippy shake shake ..... with all your might ... oh baby,
Yeahhh, come'on and shake ..... awww, it's in the bag,
Oooh, the hippy hippy shake,
Oooh, the hippy hippy shake,
Oooh, the hippy hippy shake .....

Good Morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

WOW! What a wonderful world Letty has awakened to.

A marvelous way to start our day, because we have several countries represented here.

Waving to Canada, Australia, England, Germany, and last but certainly not least, Texas. Thanks for the morning music, folks, and as soon as I get it together, I want to listen to the transcripts of the music.

It sounds as though our Bethie has a new project going, and a Happy Post Birthday, dear.

hamburger, I think we realized that you were not the one doing the reggae. Razz

We do hope that Miss India succeeds in her academic endeavors and will be back with us soon.

Now, listeners, it's coffee time.

Music: Mimis Plessas
Lyrics: Akos Daskalopoulos
Singer: Giannis Poulopoulos

It is raining again today

It is raining again today, in the small poor houses.
But in your corner everything is warm.
You have forgotten your old love,
it is raining again today in the small neighborhood.

CHORUS
Someone passes in front of your house,
He steps in the corner and he cries.
He has the fire of love in his eyes,
He has the frost in his lips.

You were shining like a star in your small terrace,
And you were a sweet wound for the boys.
Now the dark falls slowly in the neighborhood,
you have forgotten your old love.

CHORUS

Well, there is our Ellinas, and now our station is replete. Thank you again, Greece, lovely song.

I took at peek at Ellpus' pop radio and my last message to you was deleted by the BBC. <smile>I also notice, London, that the bear hats of the beef eaters are to be banned. Hmmm. Sounds a bit like the U.S. Razz

I have often wondered what would happen, if we took a line from each song, and made a new one. Probably get sued for copyright infringement.

I hear the call of the ocean, so lets play a siren song:

Krauss and Gillian Welch Lyrics
Song: Didn't Leave Nobody but the Baby Lyrics

go to sleep little babe
go to sleep little babe

your momma's gone away and your daddy's gonna stay
didn't leave nobody but the baby

go to sleep little babe
go to sleep little babe

everybody's gone in the cotton and the corn
didn't leave nobody but the baby

you're a sweet little babe
you're a sweet little babe

honey in the rock and the sugar don't stop
gonna bring a bottle to the baby

don't you weep pretty babe
don't you weep pretty babe

she's long gone with her red shoes on
gonna need another loving babe

go to sleep little babe
go to sleep little babe

you and me and the devil makes three
don't need no other lovin' babe

go to sleep little babe
go to sleep little babe

come lay bones on the alabaster stones
and be my everlovin baby.

There's our Raggedy, folks. (I don't have streamload either, Ellinas)

Hmmm, listeners. I think most of us know the great Howard Huges discovery, Jane, and Ron was one of the Tarzans, but I am not familiar with the other two ladies. I notice that O.C. Smith did "Little Green Apples", so let's do that one.

Artist: Roger Miller (peak Billboard position # 39 in 1968)
Words and Music by Bobby Russell
Version by O.C. Smith hit # 2 that same year

And I wake up in the mornin'
With my hair down in my eyes and she says "Hi"
And I stumble to the breakfast table
While the kids are goin' off to school…goodbye
And she reaches out 'n' takes my hand
And squeezes it 'n' says "How ya feelin', hon?"
And I look across at smilin' lips
That warm my heart and see my mornin' sun

And if that's not lovin' me
Then all I've got to say
God didn't make little green apples
And it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime
And there's no such thing as Doctor Seuss
Or Disneyland, and Mother Goose, no nursery rhyme

God didn't make little green apples
And it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime
And when my self is feelin' low
I think about her face aglow and ease my mind

Sometimes I call her up at home knowin' she's busy
And ask her if she could get away and meet me
And maybe we could grab a bite to eat
And she drops what she's doin' and she hurries down to meet me
And I'm always late
But she sits waitin' patiently and smiles when she first sees me
'cause she's made that way

And if that ain't lovin' me
Then all I've got to say
God didn't make little green apples
And it don't snow in Minneapolis when the winter comes
And there's no such thing as make-believe
Puppy dogs, autumn leaves 'n' BB guns

FADE

God didn't make little green apples
And it don't rain in Indianapolis

Love that, folks.

Kind of funny song, from the 50s.

Music: Mimis Plessas
Lyrics: Costas Pretenteris
Singer: Dimitris Horn

The beads

Your red, green and blue beads,
Made ten brave men to fight yesterday.
They bring harm and agitation in the neighborhoods of Kokkinia,
Your red, green and blue beads…

CHORUS
Lai, lai, lai, lai, lai,
Oh! Take off your jewels! The ones you wear when you pass by.
And stop now your games! Don't oppress us!

Your red, green and blue bracelets,
Drove Petralona mad, and burned Sepolia.
But if the master will be found, my poor heart will be crying.
Your red, green and blue bracelets…

CHORUS

You red, green and blue earrings,
Warmed up the male blood in the neighborhoods,
So take them off gently, otherwise you'll be forced to.
You red, green and blue earrings…

CHORUS

*Kokkinia, Petralona and Sepolia: suburbs in the West of Athens where economically poor people use to live.

Well, Ellinas, that is a very unusual song. I do wonder about the significance of the "red, green, and blue" jewelry. Thanks, Greece, for playing it here on our radio.

Here is another type of jewelry song, listeners from the play Kismet:

Artist: Lyrics
Song: Baubles, Bangles And Beads Lyrics

Baubles, bangles,
Hear how they jing, jing-a-ling-a,
Baubles, bangles,
Bright, shiny beads.
Sparkles, spangles,
My heart will sing, sing-a-ling-a,
Wearing baubles, bangles and beads.
I'll glitter and gleam so,
Make somebody dream so,
That someday he may buy me,
A ring, ring-aling-a,
I've heard that's where it leads,
Wearing baubles and bangles and beads.
