Good afternoon listeners. I would just like to say,

I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)
Moody Blues lyrics

I'm just a wand'ring on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people who are try'n to be free
And while I'm trav'lin I hear so many words
Language barriers broken, now we've found the key
And if you want the wind of change to blow about you
And you're the only other person to know, don't tell me
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band.

A thousand pictures can be drown from one word
Only who is the artist, we gotta agree
A thousand miles can lead so many ways
Just to know who is driving, what a help it would be
So if you want this world of yours to turn about you
And you can see exactly what to do, please tell me
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand riots by the people
For the people who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened person who is frightened by the people
Who are scorching this earth, scorching this earth.

I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand riots by the people
For the people who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened person who is frightened by the people
Who are scorching this earth, scorching this earth.

Music is the traveler crossing the world
Meeting so many people bridging the seas
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band
Music is the traveler crossing the world
Meeting so many people bridging the seas
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band
We're just the singers in a rock and roll band.

Hey, Try. Great song and so true. How about some more mud:

Artist: Muddy Waters Lyrics
Song: (I'm Your) Hoochie Coochie Man Lyrics

The gypsy woman told my mother
Before I was born
I got a boy child's comin'
He's gonna be a son of a gun
He gonna make pretty women's
Jump and shout
Then the world wanna know
What this all about
But you know I'm him
Everybody knows I'm him
Well you know I'm the hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm him

I got a black cat bone
I got a mojo too
I got the Johnny Concheroo
I'm gonna mess with you
I'm gonna make you girls
Lead me by my hand
Then the world will know
The hoochie coochie man
But you know I'm him
Everybody knows I'm him
Oh you know I'm the hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm him

On the seventh hours
On the seventh day
On the seventh month
The seven doctors say
He was born for good luck
And that you'll see
I got seven hundred dollars
Don't you mess with me
But you know I'm him
Everybody knows I'm him
Well you know I'm the hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm him.

Thanks to our Raggedy, I now know what hoochie coochie means. <smile?

Ah, Muddy Waters. I hope no one minds a bit more from him.

Muddy Waters
Blow Wind Blow

When the sun rose this morning
I didn't have my baby by my side
When the sun rose this morning
I didn't have my baby by my side
I don't know where she was
I know she's out with some another guy

Don't the sun look lonesome
Shading down behind the trees?
Don't the sun look lonesome
Shading down behind the trees?
But don't your house look lonesome
When your baby's packed to leave

Blow wind, blow wind
Blow my baby back to me
Blow wind, blow wind
Blow my baby back to me
Well, you know if I don't soon find them
I will be in misery

Goodbye, baby
That is all I have left to say
Goodbye, baby
That is all I have left to say
But you have lost your good thing
Go ahead and have your own way

Well, Arthur. That must have been a request from the shade of Dr. Mudd. <smile>. We all like your song, buddy.

Might as well continue with it folks, so here is out of tune Boone as Bud called him:

(Moody river, moody river)

CHORUS
Moody river, more deadly than the vainest knife
Moody river, your muddy water took my baby's life

Last Saturday evenin' came to the old oak tree
It stands beside the river where you were to meet me
On the ground your glove I found
With a note addressed to me
It read "Dear love, I've done you wrong"
"Now I must set you free"
"No longer can I live with this hurt and this sin"
"I just couldn't tell you that guy was just a friend

CHORUS

I looked into the muddy water and what could I see?
I saw a lonely, lonely face just lookin' back at me
Tears in his eyes and a prayer on his lips
And the glove of his lost love at his fingertips

CHORUS

Mississippi Mud Lyrics
Ray Charles

When the sun goes down, the tide goes out, the people gather round and they all
begin to shout.

Hey, Hey Uncle Dud

It's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi Mud.
It's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi Mud.

What a dance do they do.
Lordy how I'm tellin' you.
They don't need no band.
They keep time by clapping their hands.
Just as happy as a cow chewin' on a cud.

It's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi Mud.

Lordy how they play it.
Goodness how they sway it.

Uncle Joe, uncle Jim!
How they pound that mire with vigor and vim.

Joy it nearly kill me.
Boy that music trills me.

What a show when they go.
Say they beat it up either fast or slow.

Hey, Try. I knows that one. Mississippi mud pie. <smile> Some band had a one hit wonder with that one.

Now a little change of theme, listeners. This one is for me from Mr. and Mrs. Turtle.

Beatles (Lennon/McCartney)

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, Letty be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, letty be.
Letty be; Letty be; Letty be; Letty be.
Whisper words of wisdom, Letty be.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, Letty be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, Letty be.
Letty be Yeah
There will be an answer, letty be.

Okay, I guess you got the idea, right? Razz

Incidentally, Mr. Turtle said that Billy Preston was on that recording playing organ, I think.

Speak of the turtle and up he saunters. <smile> Hey, moby. I should be thanking you. I thought it was the virgin mary as well, but then Lady Madonna rather confused the issue with all them kids.

Speaking of Madonna, one of my favorites by her was Don't Cry for me Argentina.

Don't Cry For me Argentina
It won't be easy, you'll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I've done
You won't believe me
All you will see is a girl you once knew
Although she's dressed up to the nines-
BUT sixes and sevens with you

I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn't stay all my life doubting
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I chose freedom
Running around, trying everything new
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it to

Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seems to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They're not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me

Don't cry for me Argentina

Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

Have I said too much?
There's nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is look at me
To know that every word is true

Don't cry for me Argentina

Well, listeners, we are in sync again, it seems:

Material girl confirmed new H and M model Thu Jun 8, 8:10 AM ET

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - US pop queen Madonna has been confirmed as the latest of a string of celebrities to model for Swedish low-cost fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H and M).

"We are extremely proud that Madonna wants to be in partnership with H and M," company spokeswoman Kristina Stenvinkel told AFP Thursday.

"This campaign encapsulates H and M's and Madonna's expression of diversity and personal style," Stenvinkel added.

Madonna is to pose for a poster campaign due to hit bill boards worldwide from August.

The company is to also clothe Madonna and 150 members of her crew in T-shirts, tops, hoods and jeans emblazened with "Madonna plus crew loves H and M". These designs will be made available in H and M stores.

Madonna's crew is also to be given free range to stock up on H and M products.

"Madonna and her crew will be able to select items from the H and M range at stores in London and New York," Stenvinkel said.

Stenvinkel refused to reveal how much the campaign was worth.

Previous H and M models have included superstars Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Anna Nicole Smith.

Last year, British supermodel Kate Moss was fired because of coke.

Mud Lyrics »
The Secrets That You Keep

Oo-oo-oo-oo the secrets that you keep.
I've only got myself to blame
I played a losing game
I lie awake and call your name
Our love is just a picture in a broken frame
It seemed so hard for me to share.
It's even harder now that you're not there.

(Now baby)
I'm losing sleep over the secrets that you keep
(Oh baby)
I'm losing sleep over the secrets that you keep
I lie awake at nights not knowing where you are
You know it don't seem right
That you could be so far away from me.
Oh the secrets that you keep
Since you've been gone our worlds have grown apart.
Now I don't know what's in your head or in your heart.
Those little things you kept so secretly
Well they don't mean much to you now
But they mean so much to me.

If you could give me just one more chance
I'm the fool who broke up our romance
We used to have so many plans
Then I went and let you slip right through my hands.
I'll go searching till I find
A way to get you back and make you mine.

(Until then)
I'm losing sleep over the secrets that you keep . . .

since i've just stated the thread on our cape horn cruise , perhaps this is appropriate ?
hbg

Cape Horn
-------------
(voice of a salty sea dog) It was like riding a port over a waterfall, and wind
is not the for what blows in your face: It was something made of iron! Swings
at ya from the West, never changin' day in and day out. With seas as high as
the main mast. We had lifelines rigged everywhere, sir, and there were still 16
men washed over board...Cold? Three men froze in the yards; frozen stiff, sir.
Couldn't get them down without cutting their fingers loose from the shrouds. I
was lucky...

My True Love
Jack Scott

I prayed to the Lord to send me a love
He sent me an angel from heaven above
The stars in the sky he placed in her eyes
She is my true love

The touch (my true love) of her hand (my true love)
Captured (my true love) my soul (my true love)
And the kiss (my true love) from her lips (my true love)
Set my heart (my true love) aglow (my true love)

And I know (my true love) from heaven (my true love)
From heaven (my true love) above (my true love)
Came my, my true love

SPOKEN:
Darling, I love you
I'll always be true
My prayers, they were answered
When the Lord sent me you

With, love and devotion
That I never knew
Until the Lord above sent me you
And I thank (my true love) the heavens (my true love)
The heavens above (my true love)
For sending my true love
(My true love)

Susie Darlin
Robin Luke

I stood a-watchin' all night long
I stood a-watchin' all night long
I stood a-watchin' till you went away
You were a girl of many charms
Oh, how I loved you in my arms
I never thought that you would ever go
'cause I loved you so

Oh, uh, Susie darlin'
I thought you knew
You were all the world to me
All my dreams come true

I stood a-cryin' all night long
I stood a-cryin' all night long
Cryin' wishin' you'd come back to me-ee
Thinking of all the dreams we knew
Now that you're gone they won't come true
My heart is empty without you
Nothin' there but misery

Oh, uh, Susie darlin'
I thought you knew
You were all the world to me
All my dreams come true

Now-ow I stand a-watchin' all night long
I stand a-watchin' all night long
Knowing that life has nothing left for me-ee
I'll wait around most patiently
Hopin' you will return to me
'Til that happy day I will always be
Watchin' all night long

Oh, uh, Susie darlin'
I thought you knew
You were all the world to me
All my dreams come true

Volare (Nel Blu Di Pinto Di Blu)
Domenico Modugno

[Words and Music by Domenico Modugno and Francesco Migliacci]

Sometimes the world is a valley of heartaches and tears
And in the hustle and bustle, no sunshine appears
But you and I have our love always there to remind us
There is a way we can leave all the shadows behind us

Volare, oh oh,cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh
Let's fly way up to the clouds
Away from the madd'ning crowds
Let us sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like birds of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find

Volare, oh oh, cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings

English lyrics by Mitchell Parrish
Won 2 Grammies in 1958
Recorded by Dean Martin and Umberto Marcato in 1958
Also recorded by Bobby Rydell, #4 1960

Volare

Pienso che un sueno parecido
no volvera mas
y me pintaba las manos
y la cara d'azul
y de improviso el viento rapido me llevo
y me hizo volar en el cielo infinito.

Volare oh, oh
Cantare oh, oh
Nel blu dipinto di blu
felice di stare lassu

y volando, volando feliz
yo me encuentro mas alto
mas alto que el sol
mientras el mundo se aleja despacio
despacio de mi
una musica dulce tocada
solo para mi

Volare oh, oh
Cantare oh, oh, oh, oh
Nel blu di pinto di blu
felice di stare lassu

LONDON CALLING.....HERE IS THE NEWS FROM THE BBC.........

A man convicted of stealing 500 Monopoly sets was today sentenced to go to jail, to go directly to jail, to not pass go and not collect £200.

Charles Spalding, the UK's most dissillusioned Vet, has today published his memoirs, entitled "All Creatures Grunt and Smell".

There was a reunion for school dunces at the Albert Hall last night, where 3000 people attended and all stood in the same corner.

There was disruption at the Aston Martin car factory today, when a Junior Manager went on strike after he was locked out of the Executive toilets. He stated that if he didn't get a satisfactory explanation, he would go over his bosses head.

Doris Clagthorpe, Britain's only woman Lighthouse keeper, was given a final warning today, for insisting on closing the curtains when it got dark.

Chaos reigned at The Pink Pussy Club in Mayfair yesterday, when Gladys the cross eyed stripper pranced on to the stage, and took all the clothes off the nearby pianist.

Albert Crumb, Britain's longest serving Post Office counter clerk, retired today after 45 years service. As colleagues queued to shake his hand, he told them all to go to the next window and went for lunch.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

hamburger, those little shanties are always of interest to us, especially since they reflect the perils of those who dared to sail round the cape. Thanks, Canada.

edgar, we appreciate the late night music, especially Volare since it reminds me of my godchild. Thank you, Texas.

Well, well, folks. Here is our Lord calling us from that place in England. Welcome back, Brit, and what a wonderful way to start the day. Love your little funnies, honey. Big smile, and a heart felt "thanks" from all of us here.

This is quite timely, since L.E. has just apprised us of his giraffe experience, folks:

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Delighted conservationists said on Friday that they had found conclusive proof of the existence of a rare giraffe-like creature in Congo's Virunga National Park that has defied the odds of survival in a region battered by savage conflict.

First discovered in what is now Virunga in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in 1901, the shy forest-dwelling okapi had not been found in the park since 1959.

It was known to be present elsewhere in the Congo, but there were concerns it had gone extinct in the place of its discovery because of violence and lawlessness.

But a recent survey of the area by conservation group WWF and the Institute Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) found 17 okapi tracks and other evidence of its presence.

No sightings of the elusive animal, which resembles a cross between a giraffe and a zebra with a striped behind and legs and a long neck, were made but its tracks were taken as absolute proof of the creature's recent activity in the park.

"Except for mountain gorillas, which have shown an increase in population due to important conservation efforts, most wildlife in the park (Virunga) have heavily suffered from poaching," .

Well, there's our Raggedy, listeners, with a picture of one of my favorite actors.

I do believe, PA, that the last thing I saw him in was the movie of James Barrie. Rather disappointing, really, with implications that Barrie's life was an unhealthy preoccupation with children.

It seems that the remake of The Omen has done quite well at the box office, and all because of the 666 date. People are strange, no?

I suppose that my all time favorite of Depp's was the movie, "From Hell."

I, too, was disappointed in "Finding Neverland" as I expected to see more about Barrie's life. I loved Johnny in "Don Juan DeMarco" and "Benny and Joon". "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" was great, but I think Leonardo DiCaprio stole that movie.

I avoid those "Hell" and "Omen" movies. Laughing
