This one please…

Everything I Own
As recorded by Bread

You sheltered me from harm
Kept me warm... kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free... set me free
The finest years I ever knew
Were all the years I had with you

And I would give anything I own
Would give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again.

You taught me how to love
What it's of... what's it's of
You never said too much
But still you showed the way, and I knew
From watchin' you
Nobody else could ever know
The part of me that can't let go.

And I would give anything I own
Would give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again.

Is there someone you know, you're loving them so
But taking them all for granted?
You may lose them one day
Someone takes them away
And they don't hear the words longed to say.

I would give anything I own
Would give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Just to touch you once again.

Ah, listeners. It seems that our Cyracuz is shy, so we will just do one for him:

For you, Norway and your land of the midnight sun. <smile>

Midnight Sun
Duran Duran

As I watch you flicker slowly in the shadows nothing to hold
It's as if I don't recall our time before and would it be so wrong
Not to remember
There are times I look at you differently like I've never seen you before
If only after all we've done that you could be someone I don't know at all
Don't know you at all
Catch me I don't wanna fall
But you pull the mountain from under me look I'm dangling up in the blue
And it's a cartoon coyote eternity before I drop down to you
What am I supposed to do now
There is something beautiful shining in the far off night of your head
If only for awhile it seem to come from the sky but it's in your head
Yes it fills your head
You and I don't always fly let me go I wanna fall deep into the dark
But I got back to you and I'll always know how to find you coz you shine like the midnight sun

Try, you are funny still. We love you and always will.

Hmmm. I like that song by Bread. Reminds me of this one, folks.

Hey have you ever tried,
Really reaching out for the other side?
I maybe climbing on rainbows
But, baby here goes.
Dreams there for those who sleep,
Life is for us to keep,
And if you're wond'ring
What this song is leading to
I want to make it with you
I really think that we can make it girl.
No, you don't know me well,
'N' ev'ry little thing only time will tell,
But you believe the things that I do.
And we'll see it through.
Life can be short or long,
Love can be right or wrong,
And if I chose the one
I'd like to help me through,
I'd like to make it with you
I really think that we can make it girl.
Baby you know that
Dreams they're for those who sleep,
Life is for us to keep
And if I chose the one
I'd like to help me through,
I'd like to make it with you
I really think that we can make it girl.

It's ok, I'm…

Feeling Alright
As recorded by Joe Cocker

Seems I've got to have a change of scene
Every night I have the strangest dreams
Imprisoned by the way that it could have been
Left you on my own or so it seems
I've got to leave before I start to scream
'Cause someone locked the door and took the key.

You feeling alright?
I'm not feeling too good myself, no
Yessir, you feeling alright?
I'm not feeling that good myself, no.

Well, boy you sure took me for one big ride
And even now I set and I wonder why
That when I think of you I start myself to cry
I just can't waste my time, I must keep dry
Gotta stop believing in all your lies
'Cause there's too much to do before I die.

Hey, you feeling alright?
I'm not feeling too good myself
Oh no, feeling alright?
I'm not feeling too good, little girl.

Don't you get too lost in all I say
Yeah about at the time I really felt that way
But that was then and now you know it's today
I can't get set so I guess I'm here to stay
Till someone comes along and takes my place, yeah
With a different name, woah and a different face.

You feeling alright?
I'm not feeling that good myself, yeah
You can turn away
You feeling alright?
I'm not feeling that good myself, I tell you.

How about a little irony and double entendre from Stevie, then.

Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight.
Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight.

I'm a poorman's son, from across the railroad tracks,
The only shirt I own is hangin' on my back,
But I'm the envy of ev'ry single guy
Since I'm the apple of my girl's eye.
When we go out stepping on the town for a while
My money's low and my suit's out of style,
But it's all right if my clothes aren't new
Out of sight because my heart is true.

She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, out of sight.
Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.

I'm a pearl of a girl, I guess that's what you might say,
I guess her folks brought her up that way,
The right side of the tracks, she was born and raised
In a great big old house, full of butlers and maids.
No one is better than I, I know I'm just an average guy,
No football hero or smooth Don Juan,
Got empty pockets, you see I'm a poorman's son.
She says give her the things that money can buy
But I'll never, never make my baby cry,

And it's all right, what I can't do,
Out of sight because my heart is true,
She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.
Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.
Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, ah ah ah ah,
Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.
Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.

A bit more from Stevie, while we're at it. And a personal favorite, I might add.

STEVIE WONDER

"I Just Called To Say I Love You"

No New Year's Day to celebrate
No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away
No first of spring
No song to sing
In fact here's just another ordinary day

No April rain
No flowers bloom
No wedding Saturday within the month of June
But what it is, is something true
Made up of these three words that I must say to you

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

No summer's high
No warm July
No harvest moon to light one tender August night
No autumn breeze
No falling leaves
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies

No Libra sun
No Halloween
No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring
But what it is, though old so new
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
baby of my heart

Love that one, Arthur. So, today is Wonder day is it, listeners.

This one is great as well:

You are the sunshine of my life
That´s why I´ll always be around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you´ll stay in my heart

I feel like this is the beginning
´Though I´ve loved you for a million years
And if I thought our love was ending
I´d find myself drowning in my own tears, whoa whoa

You are the sunshine of my life
That´s why I´ll always stay around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you´ll stay in my heart

You must have known that I was lonely
Because you came to my rescue
And I know that this must be heaven
How could so much love be inside of you

You are the sunshine of my life
That´s why I´ll always stay around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you´ll stay in my heart

You must have known that I was lonely
Because you came to my rescue
And I know that this must be heaven
How could so much love be inside of you

You are the sunshine of my life
That´s why I´ll always stay around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you´ll stay in my heart.

There's also a song I like called, "I Can See Clearly Now."

Who did that one?

As I was motivatin'
Back in town
I saw a Cadillac sign
Sayin' No Money Down
So I eased on my brakes
And I pulled in the drive
Gunned my motor twice
Then I walked inside
Dealer came to me
Said Trade in you Ford
And I'll put you in a car
That'll eat up the road
Just tell me what you want
And then sign on that line
And I'll have it brought down to you
In a hour's time
I'm gonna get me a car
And I'll be headed on down the road
Then I won't have to worry
About that broken - down, ragged Ford
Well Mister I want a yellow convertible
Four - door de Ville
With a Continental spare
And a wide chrome wheel
I want power steering
And power brakes
I want a powerful motor
With a jet off - take
I want air condition
I want automatic heat
And I want a full Murphy bed
In my back seat
I want short - wave radio
I want TV and a phone
You know I gotta talk to my baby
When I'm ridin' alone
Yes I'm gonna get that car
And I'm gonna head on down the road
Yeah, then I won't have to worry
About that broken - down, ragged Ford
I want four carburetors
And two straight exhausts
I'm burnin' aviation fuel
No matter what that cost
I want railroad air horns
And a military spot
And I want a five - year guarantee
On everything I got
I want ten - dollar deductible
I want twenty dollar notes
I want thirty thousand liability
That's all she wrote
I got me a car
And I'm headed on down the road
No money down
I don't have to worry
About that broken - down, ragged Ford

Is this what you were thinking of?

Artist: Johnny Nash
Song: I Can See Clearly Now

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin?for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there's nothin?but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin?but blue skies

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Bill Withers

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long anytime
She goes away

Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't a home
Anytime she goes away

And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know I know, I know, I know

Hey I'll leave the young thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Only darkness everyday

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away

International news:

Full Coverage: East Timor

AP - 59 minutes ago
DILI, East Timor - East Timor's president, a former guerrilla leader and independence hero, announced emergency measures Tuesday after mobs stole evidence on massacres that followed the nation's break from Indonesia. President Xanana Gusmao's declaration that he was taking sole control of security was seen as an attempt to break a political deadlock that has paralyzed the government and may have helped fueled deadly violence.

Oops, Missed our dys' second contribution, folks. Love that one, honey.

Somehow, songs in a minor key always get to me.

A different kind of sun:

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain
Sunny, you smiled at me and then it eased my pain
Now the dark days are gone and bright days are here
My Sunny once shined so sincere, Sunny once so true
I love you I love you

Sunny thank you for the sunshine you gave to me
Sunny thank you for the love you brought my way
You gave to me your all and all
And now I feel that I'm 10 feet tall
Sunny once so true, I love you

Sunny thank you for the truth that you let me see
Sunny thank you for the facts from A to Z
Somehow I was torn like a wind blown sail
Then our love was borned when you held my hand
Sunny once so true, I love you

Sunny thank you for the sunshine you gave to me
Sunny thank you for the love you brought my way
You gave to me your all and all
And now I feel that I'm 10 feet tall
Sunny once so true, I love you

and, anyone know who sang that one originally?

"Sunny", written by Bobby Hebb, became his biggest success. I don't know who sung it.

Fire And Rain
As recorded by James Taylor

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susan the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to.

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again.

Won't you look down upon me Jesus
You gotta help me make a stand
You just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way.

Woah, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again.

Been walking my mind to an easy time
My back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around
Well there's hours of time on the telephone line
To talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground.

Woah, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you baby
One more time again now.

Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things comin' my way this time around now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you, fire and rain now

Well, I sang it. <smile>

You know, Try, I love that JT song. One of the very first that I ever heard. There has been some dispute about what he meant. I always thought that he was referring to Jefferson Airplane, but not certain of that.
Some say he wrote it to a girl who died in rehab.

What do you think, folks?

Artist: Jefferson Airplane
Song: Blues From An Airplane
Album: Jefferson Airplane Takes Off

Do you know how sad it is to be a man alone
I feel so solitary being in my home without you
I don't know what to do and
I don't know where you are
I can see my life is meant to fall apart some day
Just to be a simple man who sadly goes his way got no girl so
I got no world and
I got no words that I'll say
hey hey woman make me happy like I've never known before
say you have ever known no heart fore me anymore
something new, what's that sound around my heart
I feel something new,
I'm sure your love you've given must be real I know and
I'm sure of how I can be the man I feel,
I can be the man I feel

The Family Of Man
As recorded by Three Dog Night

This tired city was somebody's dream
A billboard horizon as black as it seemed
A four-level highway across the land
We're building a home for the family of man.

Prices are rising, the devil's to pay
Moving the mountain that got in the way
Prayer books and meetings to find a plan
Deciding the fate of the family of man.

So hard, whatever are we coming to
Yes it's so hard
With so little time
And so much to do.

Memories replacing the loves that we've lost
Burning our bridges as soon as they're crossed
Factories built where the rivers ran
Time's running out for the family of man.

Hey, listeners. The family of man may be on the wane, but the sisters are still shouting and saying let's sing:

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

Everyone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

Goodnight Lyrics

Now it's time to say good night
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the moon begins to shine
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Good night Good night Everybody
Everybody everywhere
Good night

Now, settle back down
Little girl, Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl

Little darling do not let a little tear
Fall-a from your eye-hi-hi-hi-eye.

Reap What You Sow - Billy Stewart

Over and over
I tell you that I love you
It's over and over and over
I told you I miss you

Like the good book says
You have to reap just what you sow
I know, I know, I know....
(What you sow, what you sow)

You're my lover girl
And I'm your lover boy
Love is no game
Let's not take it for a toy

It's like the good book says
You have to reap just what you sow
(What you sow, what you sow)

Can't you understand the things
The things we have planned
For the years, years to come

It's hard to believe
You, you decieved me
Baby, baby, baby
Please come back home

Whoa, oh, oh, oh....
Over and over and over
I told you I love you
It's over and over and over
I told you I miss you

It's like, it's like the good book says
You have to reap just what you sow
Lyrics courtesy Top40db.
(What you sow, what you sow)
I know, I know, I know...
