Well, folks. We'll have to put the trees and the flute on hold, because I just noticed that June Pointer of the Pointer Sisters has died. So strange, because the sisters have been seen on several sites.

Here's to you and your sisters June (from Beverly Hills Cop)

I don't want to take it anymore
I'll just stay here locked behind the door
Just no time to stop and get away
'Cause I work so hard to make it everyday

Whoo oooh
Whoo oooh

There's no money falling from the sky
'Cause a man took my heart and robbed me blind
Someone stole my brand new Chevrolet
And the rent is due, I got no place to stay

Whoo oooh
Whoo oooh

(Chorus:)
And it's hard to say
Just how some things never change
And it's hard to find
Any strength to draw the line
I'm just burning doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burning doin' the neutron dance

Industry don't pay a price that's fair
All the common people breathing filthy air
Roof caved in on all the simple dreams
And to get ahead your heart starts pumping schemes

Chorus

Whoo oooh
Whoo oooh
I'm on fire
I'm on fire

Chorus

I know there's a pot of gold for me
All I got to do is just believe
I'm so happy doin' the neutron dance
And I'm just burning doin' the neutron dance
I'm so happy doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burning doin' the neutron dance

Thanks for the music.

You came along and you moved me honey
I changed my mind, looking fine

You kissed me baby, woo.....it feels good
Hold me baby, girl just let me love you like a lover should
You're fine, so kind
I'm a tell this world that your mine mine mine mine-ine

I'm really nervous but it sure is fun
Come on baby, you drive me crazy

Try, you are a dear. I wanted to read a poem about the dogwood tree, and felt rather down after hearing a song that my mom used to sing, but Jerry Lee and your remark about Sunday School gave me a big smile.

Actually, folks, the dogwood tree is Virginia's state tree and one is forbidden to pick the blossoms. I think most of us realize the legend of the tree that was supposed to be the wood used to make the cross upon which Jesus was crucified.

I love this song, folks, so in memory of my friend who was the choir director. (two melodies to this one, folks. I prefer the one in the minor key)

James Russell Lowell (1819 - 1891)

Once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of Truth with Falsehood for the good or evil side;
Some great Cause, God's New Messiah, offering each the bloom or blight,
Parts the goats upon the left hand, and the sheep upon the right.
And the choice goes by forever 'twixt' darkness and that light.

Then to side with Truth is noble when we share her wretched crust.
Ere her cause bring fame and profit, and 'tis prosperous to be just;
Then it is the brave man chooses, while the coward stands aside,
Doubting in his abject spirit, till his Lord is crucified,
And the multitude make virtue of the faith they had denied.

Love in Stereo
The Monks.

Why am I in love in stereo
with a girl on either side
you might well look on and envy me
but this feelin` isn`t so hi-fi

Just a boy in love in stereo
when we dance it`s not much fun
I can`t choose `cause they`re identical
and I can`t move without the other one

One wants to stay at home the other wants the night out
One wants to read in bed the other wants the light out
I really don`t know what to do `cause I`m in love with you...
and you...and you

Why am I in love in stereo
where to start, I can`t decide
`cause makin` love is two dimentional
and I`m much more a mono man inside

Now that I`m in love in stereo
There`s one thing I can`t deny
oo when we kiss, we reach hi frequency
but I prefer the reproduction side

One wants to stay at home the other wants the night out
one wants to read in bed the other wants the light out
one wants to marry me the other wants to break up
one wants to call it off the other wants to make up
I really don`t know what to do, `cause I`m in love with you...
and you, and you.

Why am I, in love in stereo
Oo why am I, in love in stereo
I said why am I in love in stereo

why am I in love in stereo
why am I in love in stereo

repeat and fade.....

Ah, Try. I know well that song, buddy. How long, I wonder, have people been chanting that song:

Peace; Now.

Looking inside:

Basia
ยป An Olive Tree

one day, while in the south of france,
my good friend said I should hug an olive tree,
she claimed that dreams come true when you do, but
can a plant be in any way that beneficial to me?
though i'm a famous sceptic, feet on the ground,
this time i wanted this to be true...
now picture this:
a silly polish girl in nice
embracing trees
wishing for you
hug an olive tree!
i take it--things are looking good
still--could be better,
there's always something to improve
and so you should
hug an olive tree
i take it--things are looking good
still--could be better,
there's always something to improve
oh yes we should
so when you're in the south of france
and you've got dreams,
look for some magic gardens with olive trees
though i'm a famous sceptic, feet on the ground,
this time i wanted this to be true...
some olive branch must have heard my desperate heart
'cause i wear the crown (the olive crown,
i wear the olive crown...)
and so do you...

Good Night Lyrics
The Beatles

Now it's time to say good night
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the moon begins to shine
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Good night Good night Everybody
Everybody everywhere
Good night.

Well, this must be our Try's goodnight song.

A beautiful way to say it, methinks. <smile>

Well, this is for WilliamHenryIII. Who knows where he sleeps tonight:

We lived our little drama
We kissed in a field of white
And stars fell on Alabama
Last night

I can't forget the glamour
Your eyes held a tender light
and stars fell on Alabama
Last night

I never planned in my imagination
A situation - so heavenly
A fairy land where no one else could enter
And in the center - just you and me, dear

My heart beat like a hammer
Your Arms wound around you tight
And stars fell on Alabama
Last night.

We're thinking about you, Will. <smile>

watched "the man who fell to earth" the other night, a grerat stranger in a strange land movie, starring david bowie as an alien trying to find a way to save his planet

this song was featured in one scene

Try to Remember

Try to remember the time of September
when life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember the time of September
when grass was green and grain was yellow
Try to remember the time of September
when you were a tender and callow fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow
Follow follow follow...

Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except for willow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That dreams were kept beside your pillow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That love was an amber about to billow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow
Follow follow follow...

Deep in December it's nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
without a hurt the heart is hollow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow
Deep in December our hearts should remember
And follow...

dj, I missed your song, Canada. That happens quite often to a drifting Letty.

I loved it, as I am certain all of our listeners did. Ah, yes. feeling in love with surround sound. Beautiful metaphor.

Do you mean, "Try to Remember", Canada? No, no. That's a real song, or are you having some fun as well? (well, maybe a reel to reel song)

A poem and a song for the regulars. How's everyone doing?

Put Out My Eyes

Put out my eyes and I can see you still.
Slam my ears to and I can hear you yet.
And without any feet can go to you.
And tongueless I can conjure your at will.
Break off my arms I shall take hold of you
And grasp you with my heart, as with a hand.
Arrest my heart, my brain will beat as true.
And if you set this brain of mine afire
Then on my blood I yet will carry you.
- Rainer Maria Rilke

Gary Joules - Mad World

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going no where
Going no where
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression
No expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen
Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me
No one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me
And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

from the american edit mashup by dean grey

Whatsername (Susanna Hoffs)
Dean Grey

Thought I ran into you down on the street,
Then it turned out to only be a dream,
I made a point to burn all of the photographs,
She went away and then I took a different path,
I remember the face, but I can't recall the name,
Now I wonder how what's her name has been...

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream

But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday

Seems that she disappeared without a trace,
(I wish it was Sunday)
Did she ever marry old what's his face,
(That's my funday)
I made a point to burn all of the photographs,
She went away and then I took a different path,
I remember the face, but I can't recall the name,
Now I wonder how what's her name has been...

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time

'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

I must say goodnight, my friends. Tomorrow, of course.

My departing lines:

"I love you in a place
where there's no space and time
I love you for my life
you are a friend of mine
and when my life is over
remember when we were together
we were alone
and I was singing this song for you .."

Good morning/afternoon, WA2K listeners and contributors. Let's begin with a poem of beauty:

One day people will touch and talk perhaps
easily,
And loving be natural as breathing and warm as
sunlight,
And people will untie themselves, as string is unknotted,
Unfold and yawn and stretch and spread their fingers,
Unfurl, uncurl like seaweed returned to the sea,
And work will be simple and swift
as a seagull flying,
And play will be casual and quiet
as a seagull settling,
And the clocks will stop, and no one will wonder
or care or notice,
And people will smile without reason,
Even in winter, even in the rain.

Poet: A.S.J. Tessimond
Poem: Day Dream
