Many times, reference has been made that, among the unimaginable greatness of its overwhelming presence, we (I) am nothing more than a speck of dust when considered against the universal scheme of things.
If, therefore, I am but a speck of dust but I am aware that I am, what then? Moreover, if I am aware - that I am aware - that I am but a "speck of dust," either in hope, desire - or fact - does that immediately cancel out the ignoble label?
If it does not, then all my breaths, my life and even all my very thoughts have just been wasted. Of what use is an ending except for itself? And any beginning is only of use for itself, regardless of its future path.
Therefore, the only reality is the present. And if the present is real and I am aware of the present, then not only am I alive, but also my awareness of being alive raises me above the dust, of which so much is gathered in the universe.
Insignificant dust and the truth of reality do NOT go hand-in-hand. It is impossible to be both.
Only our opinions can choose between the two, but that does not discount the truth.
When you reach the point of finding out the difference between you and the dust, and comparing your existence with the stars, it - the truth of you - will raise you above the dust of the universe, to take your place beside - neither above or below, but beside - the most magnificent planet - and give you a beginning, not only unique in and of itself, but also a life that is alive.
That which you truly desire, is that which you truly seek. And for you sake, I hope you find it.
For it is then, and only then, will you find out who you really are.
