1. There are 8 animal stables, (A t/m H see figure). In every
stable lives 1 cow, or 1 horse, or 1 sheep, or 1 pig.
2. In total there is at least one of each animal.
3. At least 1 pig is in between two cows
4. Every horse lives between two pigs.
5. There is no cow left or right to a horse.
6. There is only 1 sheep and its stable is next to a pig.
7. At least two pigs live next to each other.
In which stable is the sheep and why?
The Stables:
XXA
BCD
XEFG
XXH
I'll have to think about this one.
It's like counting sheep!
Whim,
Maybe I'm missing something, but I get multiple solutions that all seem to satisfy the requirements:
Code: C P S P P P S
PHP PPH PHP PSH PHP SPH PHP
CPC CPC CPC CPC CPC CPC CPC
S S C P S P P
I see your point Markr...perhaps the author can clarify the riddle.
Sorry, I am not the author, but I translated it wrong.
6. There is only 1 sheep and its stable is RIGHT next to a pig.
Whim
If you mean just to the right of a pig, then my fourth solution should be the one.
Reading on old Hindi Sanskrit of this puzzle, I think there should also be an Otter next to the Ostrich. On the other hand, it could be a frog and monkey. I hope that helps.
The forth of Mark's seven solutions.
