Newbies and pm's
No one has answered the question of how many posts or how long you have to be a member, is there not anyone that knows this, or is it that there is just no set number? How does one find out then?

I'm guessing that no official word is part of the point, to avoid giving would-be spammers a guidebook on how to get access to PMs.

I've been a member for a little while now, but not much of a poster. Just yesterday I reached to 500 posts and gained the privilege of ' pming'...

I 'pmed' ehBeth a few times and Seed... Quite an extra social activity at a2k.

It actually would't let me pm anyone until 500 and a few, I think.

When I first started you could receive PM,s and reply to them, but not initiate them. Then the ability to reply stopped (there was a thread on it). I was allowed to PM after 500 posts. I don't often PM (there's usually no need) I consider it a 'trust' thing - though I like receiving them! Very Happy

What I will say is that it is not 500 and that post count is just one factor in the algo.
