There is an angel on my shoulder
There is an angel on my shoulder and he's been there for awhile,
There is an angel on my shoulder looking for a place to smile.
"Joy-A-Plenty" is his singing name,
And to my grateful benefit, he never tires just the same.
There's an angel on my shoulder and he wants to know your name.
He is very real, my friend and this is not a wordy game.
Him I cannot see, but this to you I tell,
His radiance shines with joy from a deep and refreshing well.
Singing songs of life worth living, spraying rays of heavens beams,
From deep within you to every acquaintance, enhancing your esteem.
Worry not the future, he says, just go the extra mile,
And you will walk through the gates of heaven, which is before you all the while.
There is an angel on my shoulder and he's been there for awhile,
There is an angel on my shoulder looking for a place to smile.
Today is the day you've waited for, not yesterday or tomorrow,
For if yous top to think a minute, only you can make it sorrow.
Your heart smiles already, come now let me see that grin,
For with every increasing smile, you let more of the angel in.
