There is abounding joy in them there inner hills
There is abounding joy in them there inner hills
Where love abounds with utterly complete free will.
Surrender your soul unto God, what have you got to loose?
A life of misery you say? Well, it is yours to choose.
The hills are not so far away that they can never can be climbed,
For you climb them daily, sister & brother, but that your heart needs to be primed.
Listen carefully for the spoken smile, it whispers joy to every woman and man,
A willingness to utter, your blessed trials of a temporary span.
Courage to conquer, secret sunshine will burst forth from you. Come now let us add light to light,
And together my dear possible friend, we can rid the word of its nasty blight.
There is no time for sorrow, says the wings of birds in flight,
For as sure as there is a tomorrow, for sure is the end of night.
The sun cannot set on a hill so high and free,
For eternal daybreak shines on them, as well as you and me.
There is joy in them there inner hills - take my outstretched hands -
And I know you will never forget, the joy that broke your bands.
