Contrary
To the thoughts I cradled
In past hours
Comes fresh inspiration
News that empowers
Within the will of taking
Lies my prayer
Unbound by disbelief
And disregarding
Who might care.
From dismal days
I'm pulled apart- and start
To run
For all the momentous
Achievement
Quite done- but hidden
(inside the heart)
Put down
The shreds of years now gone
Delay the thinking of a time
Unneeded
Grin
And have a purpose
That will not be impeded
So far from high
Ingrained in low
Marching to the tune a wicked piped
Come now
To break the branch of mem' ry
And bereft of wind-blown hype
A Thank-You bellowed shrill
And wide smile
Faces to the heavens-
Sky
O give me
GIVE ME
All my meek and shy and let me
In light and shadow
Serve only THEE
I cry.

I appreciate your notice of looking upward, Letty. This is the way I BEGAN, -
this one is 'sweet sixteen' and a tiny bit chubby.
But that was a LONG TIME ago. . This past week my family graced me with a BIG red-trimmed cake (my favorite color, mostly) and lit it up for my 68 years. then they told me I looked only 40 something... boy, what a crowd!!
