Bright colors forming indistinct patterns
swirling around in a maze
Forming a picture which came from a mind
sometimes not set in its ways

These colors and shapes possess their own beauty
no matter who views through what eyes
They literally jump from the canvas - hanging in space
showing what beauty implies

They're set in a frame which was made to contain
all that was meant to be saved
Preserving a memory inside of that space
just like a road that was paved

BUSTER Copyright ©2003 Sidney Banach
Buster - a man's best friend - a canine to the end
Gods' little critter - runs to and hither
give him a bone and he'll leave you alone
you can give him a pat or mention a cat
he'll lie on his back - and then he'll attack
and he'll wag his tail - it sways without fail
he finds it funny when you tickle his tummy
a mutt through and through - seems he don't have a clue
that cute little dog - he's sometimes in a fog - but he sleeps like a log

Buster - he'll lick your socks and pick up rocks
and bury his bones in the yard
He'll sleep on the floor and bark at the door
and then he'll come back for more

thanks for the welcome
....even if was almost a form letter - I grew up in NYC so I'm a Noreaster like you. I have a dream (sorry Martin) - that is to have one of my poems used in a popular song - whether soul, blues, rock, gospel, country, jazz, etc. I've been doing this for a long time and never got better than this:
It's kind of my theme song - I love folk music and have a clever writer to recommend - see www.davelippman.com - funny and insightful.
