Is Logan a "preemptive" sabotage of the X-Men franchise?

Is it possible, that the recent Logan film was purposefully designed to cause future sabotage of the X-Men franchise? Because Logan takes place in the far future - 2029 - and because Dark Phoenix will be a prequel to Logan, and presumably other X-Men sequels will be prequels to Logan, it seems logical to think that Logan was purposefully made as a way to keep Hugh Jackman's Wolverine relevant

@Thomas33,
Maybe the X-Men franchise will be finished.

@Twist6011,
And if Logan ends up being the last story, that makes it logical to conclude that it was deliberately made that way, to accommodate movie star egotism

Ha! The Dark Phoenix story is already in pre-production.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will focus on Game of Thrones’ Turner as powerful young mutant Jean Grey, also known as Dark Phoenix. It is set for release in November, 2018.

You're overthinking the Fox studio plan for the franchise. They're not trying for an extended universe like Warner Brothers DCEU or Disney's MCEU.

Logan basically exists to give Hugh Jackman a great exit from being Wolverine. The only way he'll ever portray that character again is if Ryan Reynolds pulls him into a future Deadpool movie.

You do realize that there will come a time when Wolverine is brought back but of course... recast with another ... younger actor?

@tsarstepan,
The character might not be recast, and it stands to reason that Logan was purposefully made so that all future X-Men films are cushioned against Hugh Jackman's run as Wolverine. Basically just movie star egotism

Dark Phoenix is a prequel to Logan, and it's very possible that all the remaining X-Men films will be prequels to Logan

You really don't know anything about movies, blockbusters, and $ billion studio systems. You do know that reboots exist right? Both the concept and well tread practice, right?

@tsarstepan,
Reboots don't have anything to do with the present X-Men timeline, therefore the issue of sabotage still stands
