Help identifying the artist

I have purchased a painting from an estate, and it is unsigned and lacks any labels or information on the reverse side. It measures approximately six inches by nine inches. Any help identifying the artist would be great.

This might be worth taking to an art historian at a local university.

Not my cup of tea but some of it has a good look to it.
