I have this wonderful old English oil painting that is signed E.L.Lowe. I could not find any information on this artist and was hoping someone might be able to help me out. Any ideas?

Any chance of some photos of the back - corner joint of stretcher, any writing or labels on the canvas or frame, a close shot of the canvas?

The painting is actually done on a panel. It is not wood so I am not sure what it is. Thanks for taking a look!

@sshubinski,
Has to be wood or Masonite. If it's 19th century, it's not Masonite.

That looks like artboard. This is last half 20th century, any chance this paper applied to the back of a wood or Masonite panel,

I've been looking at the brush strokes, they seem not like what I'd expect to see in an older painting. I wonder if this is maybe a painting devised for a specific someone's interior decor.
