Gold leaf Dreams

Once more into the breach!
We arrive tsunami-like,
with proud hindsight
on the beach.

Let us take some time to explore
the sandy bluffs, dive for coral,
the elusive lobstelle's egg,
Queen among insects.

We'll call it a hike,
au naturel.

Lobstelle,
mother of pearl,
mermaids,
the sea has spoken.

Sleep, child.
Gold leaf dreams
await you in your slumber.

In a dreamy state, Cav. This is a different style, and I like it. Seems a combination of many things--the water babies of yesterday.

I'm experimenting with more surrealism and obscurity. Maybe it was Big Fish that gave me the 'bug'. Smile

Very Happy Lightwizard loved Big Fish. Called it an allegory.

Experiment away, Tesla. Hee, hee!

LW can always put it into words when they escape me. That's why I would like to see a double feature of Big Fish and O Brother Where Art Thou, for the allegory. Meh, I'm fielding and quoting many December caterings, so my mind is cluttered with day to day nonsense. Wink

Right, Cav. The day to day nonsense!

Ode to the gold leaf of my new/used car:

Ah, it's a catered affair,
With moon roof and champagne for hair.

The key turns--it starts
The brakes--Richard Stark

It hums and and it runs anywhere.

It's basically just a surreal fantasy Gautam, a mental break from the day to day. There is some wordplay, 'coral' is the term for lobster roe, so I chose 'lobstelle', 'elle' being French for 'she'. Lobsters are also technichally insects, and few are more revered. 'We'll call it a hike/au naturel', play on words, 'hike' as in a nature walk, and 'hike up your skirt', 'au naturel', naked. Sex in the outdoors. Like many obscure poems, it all comes down to sex in the end. Laughing
