The godfather mentions the parallel editing of the film's climax between the baptism and the execution of the opposing Mafia families. View this scene and discuss how collage and timing both play an important role in establishing the metaphors this scene conveys. Bear in mind that the parallel editing used here was not part of the originally planned production sequence. Coppola decided to use this technique while the film was in post-production.

@chai2,
No need for sarcasm. I have no clue what's going on in my film class and need a little guidance.

@Slightlyconfused,
How about showing that you have at least put the slightest amount of effort into your assignment?

You're not asking for a little guidance, you simply posted verbatim the entire question that is yours to work on, showing nothing of what you have come up with.

Plus, a "please give your guidance" or "Thank you for any help you can provide" would have been a nice touch.

If you have "no clue" what's going on in an entire class, perhaps you need to discuss with the professor.

@Slightlyconfused,
It shows beginning and ending. Life begins, life ends and in this case through the hands or actions of Michael, all while he attends and views a baptism.

Mind you, this is based on now dimming memories of the film, last seen 20-30 years ago.
