Windows picture and fax view

I tripped over this program purely by accident, when trying to retrieve some photos I had received via email and saved. I have no idea why they turned up in this, but would like to get all my pix into this listing, because it is very handy for printing. Also it can produce larger prints than I can get from Adobe - doubtless there is some way to get what I want from Adobe, but I haven't figured it out.

Anyway, a few of my pix show up here, but most do not. How can I get everything into this program so that it's all in one place? And how can I acces it other than by going via one of the few items I found in it? The letters, BTW, are ".tif".

If this sounds confused, that's because I totally am.

* Locate the picture you want to open in "Windows Fax and Picture Viewer"
* Right click on the icon
* Select "Open With..." and then "Choose Program..."
* Locate and click ONCE on "Windows Fax and Picture Viewer" in the list that appears.
* Put a tick in the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
* Click on OK

This will mean that each time you go to open any image of the same format, you will open it in "Windows Fax and Picture Viewer"

If you find another image which is not opening in "Windows Fax and Picture Viewer" then follow the steps above to tell it what you want it to open in, infuture.

Any questions please shout.

BTW, is there any way I can access Windows Fax, etc directly, not via clicking on a picture?

There is no .exe file so you cannot open the viewer without clicking on a picture.

The program itself will be located in the following location on your PC
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHIMGVW.DLL

but is not directly executable.
