Please enlighten us to the answer
I'd forgotten about this one, I heard a bit longer version.
The man was on a ship that had been wrecked on a desert island. When the food ran out, another passenger brought what he said was albatross but was really part of the man's wife (who had died in the wreck).
Each day the other passenger would go off to hunt albatross and come back with meat
The man suspected something fishy, so when they finally return to civilization, he ordered albatross.
Realizing from the taste that what he had eaten before was not albatross but his wife, (which was the only possible meat left on the island) he kills himself
Hmm, thank you.. whim, could you tell me if Don1's answer was the same as yours?
Not really a riddle.
You've got to feel for the poor guy, being stranded on a desert island, and being fed his wife
It is called a situation puzzel or Lateral thinking puzzle. Paul Sloane is very well know for this type of puzzle. Look up Paul Sloane.
They are a sort of guessing puzzle where you have to pose yes/no questions to the puzzle setter.
Who then answers yes/no or not relevant.
