It's been some time since I watched Charlie Brown. I'll probably have forgotten.

Some devil you are!

"But I sold my soul to you in '68!"

"What?"

"I DID! Long hair - kaftan - monkey on my head!"

"I have no memory of this."

"So - that means I hafta go to heaven?"

"Seemingly so."

Well, I spend more time remembering my Greek and Latin bases, and the ways I could torture my victims, instead of trying to remember what happens in Charlie Brown.

Because it's more fun.

It's also fun torturing people like those who think they know everything, when you can tease them with Latin because they really don't know it, or can't show that they do.

Why would someone be upset by not knowing Latin?

Why is devilment more fun than Charlie Brown?

Because if I didn't stop speaking to them in Latin, then they wouldn't know what I'm tallking about, and if they're curious enough, they might get frustrated because they can't figure it out.

Devilment? You have to be kidding. I'm sadistic. I like torturing people, rather than see people getting tortured (eg, Charlie Brown screwing up horribly just about every time).

But - are you not then soomed to frequent disappointment?

Since you must be able to torture far fewer than you wish?

Would not the sum total of your happiness be greater if you also enjoyed vicarious, and artistic, torture?

(Sympathy for the devil....)

Hey Lucifer - I hope I'm not being impolite, but I was just wondering - how old are you, actually? (I mean you, not the Devil, who is ageless I would assume). Just being curious.

No, because it's not active. It's more fun when I can actually be doing it. Watching it means I didn't do the torture.

Besides, there's plenty of souls in hell. Why should I worry about torturing fewer than I want to? I'm happy; it's the humans that aren't--they always want more.

(By the way, I'm 57. So bite me.)
