I'm still working over the ' he was an aquarius' thing.
Do aquarians have different sexual mores?

Thanks y'all, I'm glad too.

No, aquarians are supposed to be scientific thinkers.

Happy New Year to you as well, Rod.

You're much closer to 2005 than many of us are - how's the weather looking?

Cheers!

Aquarians are great people...kind, idealistic, thoughtful and great in bed (my birthdays on the 8th Feb, same as James Dean). He must have been on the cusp!

Happy New Year everyone.

Sarah. X < midnight kiss!

Hey, guys. I just saw this article, and thought I should post it here. I hope you all take this into consideration when you are out gallivanting around tonight with friends and family. I, on the other hand, will not be going out, and fully intend to remain on A2K, focusing on what my priorities are .......

Study: Family, Friends Reduce Quality Internet Time
by Scott Ott

(2004-12-31) -- A new survey from the Stanford Institute for the Quantitative Study of Society shows that relationships with family and friends may reduce both the quantity and quality of time spent surfing the internet.

Researchers say the new data show that Americans enjoy the internet less, and use it less frequently when burdened by "outdated relational protocols and so-called family responsibilities."

"We're really talking about a rip in the fabric of society," said one unnamed Stanford researcher. "Internet users who are saddled with too many face-to-face relationships report a decreased level of satisfaction with their virtual relationships."

As news of the study broke, several internet advocacy groups called an impromptu summit to discuss the implications of a world where people actually hear each other laugh out loud, and share smiles without the use of emoticons.

I dunno yet, Slappy. Dasha and I are trying to come up with a low stress, local outing with a few friends. Because everyone wants to do something slightly different than everyone else, it's getting a little complicated. Whatever happens, it'll be mellow, hopefully.

What are your plans?

I'm going to Ned Devines in Fanieul Hall. Overpriced, and like you said, it's hard to get everyone on the same page. Taking the train in, and I already have the cab reserved for the ride home. I'm always the one that "coordinates" this stuff.

There's 6 of us going, while my dumbass roomates have NO plans, because they're negative and waited until the last second for something to fall in their laps. Then a couple of my friends tried yesterday to get tickets. Sold out? Duh.

I'm hungover right now, which sucks. I was up until 4am with my roomate drinking last night. Same thing all the time, "we'll just go out for a couple beers, not stay out late." Yea right. I actually drank a can of Bud Ice.

Well have fun, you're in the right area to go to low key places if you go out. Have a good NYE.

My plans are coming together also. Since I have nobody to go out with, I'm considering sitting in the bathtub crying all night. Or maybe I'll just wander the streets aimlessly, crying. Or maybe I'll just go to bed at 9:00 and cry myself to sleep.

Kicky, it's much better to smile on the outside....and cry on the INSIDE.

No plans? Don't you have any drinking buddies in the city?

Why don't you just go to a pub/bar by yourself and meet people?

I have two...maybe three friends who I would consider drinking buddies, but one of them is out of town, the other is doing something in Brooklyn (who the hell wants to go all the way out there) and the remaining guy is gay, and, contrary to popular stereotypes, is not good with the ladies.

Maybe I'll walk around times square wearing a sign that says, "I just want to f*ck someone for New Year's Eve...How 'bout you?"

See, that's the high expectation thing that gets ya every time. It's not always all about getting drunk and laid....

Slappy, Sometimes not doing anything for NYE is ok... You have fun too, and good job reserving the taxi. I didn't even know you could do that!

I don't go out with any expectations. To me, the only difference New Years is, I try to get as many people together. Whatever happens or doesn't happen, happens. If you go out with your d!ck in your hand, you look desperate and get shut down.

Side note: I just got a call on my cellphone, from a guy that could barely speak English looking for a car. Guess I sold him one a while ago. 5:30 on NYE, and this clown is looking for a new ride. I haven't been at the dealership since March. Good stuff.

Aw, kicky, you'll have a2k. Last year I celebrated online. I remember having a good time. But, I still agree with Slappy that you should go out, even if you do go out alone.

I guess this year I don't feel I have a lot to celebrate beyond my friends and family. I'll just hang out with friends and family then.

Oh dear! NYE SUCKS for that.

My planned NYE went to Brunei late, in the person of the person throwing the party, hence coming back too late for our planned NYE.

At the time I was puzzled (but philosophical) about why, having come late to the drinks thing where the reason for this was discussed, and only found out the night before last that it was because the recently discovered biological father of the friend throwing the party had died and she was postponing the trip to go to his funeral.

I know this sounds odd, but that lot of friends is a large, busy, group - and everyone assumed I had been there when it was discussed.

So - yes - I waited for something to fall in my lap. When it didn't, I arranged to go out for dinner with a small group. Could we get a restaurant in the city? So - we compromised with a restaurant strip further out - which we thought would be crowded - and from which we could see the more enterprising of the city fireworks.

It wasn't very - crowded - so the atmosphere was a bit ho-hum - but it was fine.

But it DOES really feel a pain if nothing happens on NYE - which is dunm really - just as Li'l k says.
