I downloaded it yesterday - and it is a very nice browser to use.

Still doesn't have the one feature that makes me like Opera, though - that I can choose to re-open with all the windows that I finished the last session open with, open again.

(Man - that's a bad sentence)

Still not sure whether to ger rid of Opera.

Any other opinions?

First of all, I use just OpenSource.

OS on my computer is Mandrake Linux and yes, I use this browser since Firebird 0.6. Finally the 1.0 version released.
It's a very good,actually the best browser.

You can import your bookmarks from both Opera and IE.

A2k made the toolbar only for IE.
So here I appeal, now that Firefox is on 1.0 to make the toolbar also for Firefox compatible.

You import your bookmarks from IE to Opera, then you export it to Firefox.

I have already exported my IE bookmarks to Firefox.

My Opera ones are separate.

Well, all your bookmarks should be placed in Opera and then you start Firefox and import it.

Firefox is a good browser. It's the one I use second most (after IE, and above Opera).

But the A2K toolbar is no available for Firefox because we do not have the time and money to develop for an insignificant (statistically) user base.

I'm gonna go for it.
I preferred Netscape, and the reviews on Firefox are simply too outstanding (especially when CNET's weighing in on this).

Wow!

It works a lot better with my dial-up accelerator. Pix that I had to do refreshes to see with IE, are simply there.

I'm loving this!

The only little sniggle is that I haven't mastered closing one window, without closing them all.

Firefox rocks!

I am an (enthusiatic) user of Firefox. Its tab browsing is indispensable for me now. It's far more speedy than multiple window browsing.

I do not think you should uninstall any other browsers though.

I imagine the reason they don't allow you to do both at the same time is because you may have confliting settings...e.g. your home page (Firefox imports more than just your favorites). Can you import from both browsers if you do them one at a time?

Although I have Opera, Firefox & IE on my system as well, firefox only lists IE as an option to import from...dunno what's up with that but I don't really care either...but it means I can't test importing from Opera just now.

But yeah, go ahead and click 'File -> Import' in Firefox & see if you can bring the other browser's settings over.

As for my personal take on Firefox, I consider it better than IE in most ways, but it won't be my primary browser for now. I like to see pages as they were designed to be viewed ...although once Firefox gets more market share undoubtedly there will be more Webmasters testing their pages in Firefox. I also consider IE slightly faster (testing at Maximum PC backs this up) & IE supports a greater number of advanced Web technologies (though you could argue that Firefox supports standards more accurately & completely).

Thing is, if Microsoft had only kept up development & innovation for IE after whipping Netscape's booty, well, I doubt it would be all that hard for them to match Firefox's (large number of) modest improvements. It'll be interesting to see what Microsoft does with their browser come Longhorn time.
