Dawn of Night

When is darkness companion -
Oh sparkling twilight's
Last presence of the sun,
Yielding to the progress of time;
She creepeth down the still water -
Gazing a mile along the shadows,
So deep we drink of purity -
When is all centricity:

Self-, Christ-, You-

Of winds prevailing, how we pray:
Let them set the sails -
Love and lovers banter,
She expresses adulation;
Ah, that soul of metaphors -
When is darkness warmth, warm
As comfort that she's known -
Wraps her in the settling blackness;
Rapture in the dawning night.

2004 - KAV

I am back! Sorry for the extended absence. New for you, my fellow poets - hot of the keys! Enjoy!

Kelly, First of all, I love the oxymoron of the title, and the title is what catches the attention, no?

So deep we drink of purity -
When is all centricity

and the change of font underscores your ensuing line.

"self-Christ-you"

Damn. I love that last line:

"Rapture in the dawning night"

The form is sooooo different--the message so mercurial............I got lost in the words. (that means I drank it all in)

Quick silver................................................

Elated indeed, and I can only echo Letty's comments. I loved the piece. I especially like the new spelling of our favorite word in your response there. It made me think of "murk cure e-all".

Putting left hand on keyboard; holding up right hand.

I swear I did NOT know that was a pet word of yours and Cav's, Kelly.

Mercury rising. Hmmmm. Maybe I meant mecurachrome. Smile

I'm a Virgo, and my business is named Cinnabar, it's my duty to know about all things mercurial. Smile

and I'm a scorpio and my business is running a house and my Mom put mecurachrome on a bunch of my scratched knees.

What fun you all are. Unfortunately, I have stuff to do.

Later.

There is water in all that is mutable, and all things are mutable.

As an aside, I just couldn't resist: http://members.tripod.com/~smanga/water.html

One more thing, it only hit me later that I had switched the appropriate 'E' with a 'U'. Thanks for pointing that out, Cavmeister.

Damn you :-)

Not yet, honey. Believe me, you will be the first to know when I do. That's what happens when you make a PFC out of the US Postal Service. Razz
