high CPU usage in one user account in Win XP

Hello

I have 2 user accounts set up on my PC, one for me and one for my girlfriend, so that she can have a Finding Nemo backdrop without it anoying me.

I've recently noticed poor performance when logged in as her. ie Playing an MP3 in Windows media player takes up 100% CPU usage (only 1% when logged in as me) and surfing on the internet takes along time.

My PC Spec is 768MB RAM, AMD Athalon XP 2000+.

I can't post any HijackThis logs as I am at work, will post when I get home. Any ideas for now, or do you need the HJT logs?

Cheers

Unless you want completely random guesses including some information (i.e. HJT logs) would help you get answers/

Ok first off I'm going to apologise this is going to be a long post.

The first Hijackthis log is from my login, the second is from my girlfriends login:

This may take a couple runs, but lets start with this,
You have an outdated version of HJT so please run through all the steps please,

Then Unzip it to your desktop.. Check it for updates but "Don't run it yet"

Post back a fresh log to this thread after you have done the above

Don, looks to me as though there's a nasty trojan in there too ... I think I'd wanna run STINGER as one of the intial steps ... what do you think?

Also, I notice the XP is still at SP1 - I think it'd be a good idea to bring that up to date too.

Just my thoughts here ... you've got this one
