Firewire device not fully recognized

Ok, here's the deal.

We've got an Athlon frankenstein (whitebox, custom built, etc) system with XP Pro.

We added a Belkin (I've never had good vibes from them) 3 port firewire add-on card.

We plug in a DVD burner/printer automated duplication device which consists of two DVD-RW drives and a special lift assembly under a special printer (which plugs in via it's own LPT plug).

Only one of the drives is recognized.
----------------------------------------

In other systems where it works correctly the device shows up as two DVD drives and another device tied to a specific program that controls the whole thing.

Anybody have any ideas or experience with similar issues?
