[closed]A2K is Behaving Peculiarly Lately

For the last couple of days, A2K has been acting very strangely. Yesterday, I got a couple of "Cannot connect to database" screens. Got back in a few minutes later. I find it intermittently slow, and sometimes when I try to change a page, nothing happens. I know it is not me, 'cause every time that this happens, I check other websites, and they are running well.

Same thing is happening to me and I was wondering if it was my computer. I'm relieved that it isn't me.

For me, too.
A bit of feedback for Craven, if he's reading this (he asked for feedback earlier on):

I looked at an old thread this morning & some of the images are no longer working. Instead the little box with the X in it.

I added an emoticon to a message I was posting & this somehow erased part of the words in the post. Next to the message.

Had trouble doing a Spellcheck this morning. It took about 3 tries for it to work.

This is feedback, not a complaint! Laughing

Well, something just happened, I was away from my desk for a moment and got logged off of A2K. We'll see if it's working any better. What I was seeing - lots of grey pages that failed to load. A refresh typically solved the problem.

More feedback: something like 3 pages of New Posts just disappeared. Only one page now. Confused

The reason for new posts disappearing is because you had to reestablish your session after somebody restarted the web server. That's nothing new.

msolga- As a workaround, hit the "At a Glance" at the top right.

Slow, but that could be my dial up. Things seem to be working for me now.

Thanks to the powers at be. Smile

Thanks, Phoenix, I already do that. I just miss seeing WHO the last poster was, in threads I'm interested in, that's all ....

Correct, I happened to notice the site with the database down and restarted the database server.

I didn't have time to investigate the prior slowness but it seems to be ok after the restart.

This thread is reported closed, but it isn't locked. I'm seeing problems even moreso now. I keep getting blank (grey) pages, and have to refresh to get the page to display. Happening alot.
