Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Download Spyware Blaster and SpywareGaurd

Check for updates after you install them, And check weekly as well

Keep Ad-aware and Spybot handy, Check them for updates and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,
Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well

Need you to do a few things please,
Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.zip Unzip it to your desk top, you may need this if you can not get back online after fixing New.Net. No need to run if your able to get back online after the removal of New.Net. You will just open the program let it run and reboot,
Again only run this if you can't get back online

Now lets fix New.Net
Click here For the Newdot.net removal tool Run the tool and reboot.

Next,Dowload the following program
CWShredder
It should be the current version, but check for updates
Run Program cwshredder and have it fix anything it finds.
Make sure you click the "Fix" button
Next
Download Ad-Aware SE
Use the: "Check for Updates Now" option and download the latest reference files
Use the Start button, and on the next window, select: Perform Full System Scan
Press Next, and let Ad-aware scan the hard drive
When finished, right-click the window with the entries, choose: Select All from the menu, and click Next
Once AdAware has removed the entries, close the program
Restart the computer
Next
Dowload the latest version of Spybot 1.3. Please check it for updates, Run the program and have it fix anything it finds in Red.
Restart your computer,

Next,
Please go Here and unzip the newest version of HJT into a new dedicated folder,
Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it hjt. Unzip HijackThis into this folder. Remove the older version you are currently running

Rescan with HJT and post back a fresh log,
We will have more to remove

OK I did all that. CWShredder had a problem I think - Here is the error message:
"the following file could be part of CWS.Control.4, which uses random file names. If the fiel displayed below has a filename that looks like a random string of characters, it should be deleted.

CWShredder can't determins this for you. It you're not sure, write down the filename, click 'No' and ask someone fo help, or port on the SpywareInfo forums. Is the filename random?

2 more things if you can help
When I boot now, my computer hangs for about 3 minutes after i enter my password. It loads the start menu bar, then nothing else (desktop, icons, taskbar icons etc) for a while.
also, I get an error message as follows when it does load everything:
"RUNDLL"
"Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL The specified module could not be found"

I thought that would have cleaned up a bit better that that Andrew,
Lets go this route,
Click on Start.
Click on Settings.
Click on Control Panel.
From the Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
Click on the Install/Uninstall tab in the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
Locate the following
New.Net
Viewpoint Manager

and select it.
Click on the Add/Remove button.
After removal of software, you may be prompted to reboot.

Do so.
Then reboot

Next,
Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.zip and Run the Program.
Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows.
Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of New.Net ( Nothing else)
Then Reboot.

Next,
Please restart HJT put a check next to the following, close all open windows and click "Fix Checked"
