writing has lost its catharsis

I wonder at wandering.
Am I hoping for a destination, or groping in destitution?
As the days unfold I percieve almost nothing.
A blank stare upon the black silhouette of leaves in the sunset.
This is where my searching has led.
My life is a shadow. My love is a bed.

I needed an outlet so I used to write poetry fairly regularly. At this point my outlets have run dry.. but I can still write without too much force. SO how do I profit from my efforts in that avenue? There's nothing better than exploiting something that was once pure. Right?

If it comes naturally, just write whatever is on your mind. Let it flow, and if you decide you want to profit from it later, edit, and try to seek publication. If you already have a large volume of writing, pick say, ten pieces you like in their 'pure' form, and edit them until you think they are perfect. Reread, think about each line, each word, and if you used the right words. Look for too much repetition of words and or literary devices, such as alliteration, which I like, but sometimes overuse. Fine tune. Feel free to post first drafts and revisions here for feedback from other writers.

sometimes its easiest to forget those who make such a profound change on us for we take them for granted

Purity is a poem where nothing extraneous pollutes your conscious expression. You have done well here, friend!
