Sitting inside on a warm summer evening
Watching the day pass me by
Looking at the clock and outside
I feel the air turning crisp with the onset of autumn
The feelings so far and you farther
Time has passed me by and still I lay
Here in this room under my bed
I hide and cry from civilazation and all its arrogance
I hid for fear,
fear of rejection,
but now have come to see with my eyes freed
and my mind unbound.
Help me
Help me regain my care free life
and all the joy it brought
Help me
TJP, a plaintive cry and admirably expressed. I especially like the title because it reminds me of Poe's short story, "A Purloined Letter".
Keep writing, because we, of the poetic bent, will try and respond.
I will have to read that short story Letty, thank you. And as always i'll keep writing, just for people like you, and everyone else here at the forum! Becuase as poets, it is are destiny!
"Hidden In Plain Sight" is a copywrighted title about how quilts hung over porch bannisters were used to inform and instruct runaway slaves to make changes in their routes to the North via the "underground railroad".
No biggy but its a well used title.
Its been years since I felt your kind of emotion , but, it too changes.
I'm sorry, didn't know. I shall go back and change it.
TJP, all you have to do is put quotes around the title to show that it is a borrowed expression. I had no idea it was connected with Harriet Tubman, either.
