Sharing
I can never face tomorrow, if you don't let me share your sadness,
For sharing your sorrows with me can only lead to gladness.
I don't have all the answers, no one does it seems,
But a shoulder have I to cry on, and soften your disturbing dreams.
Any shared weight leaves that much more and lighter room for gladness
And dispels the phony lie that comes with any sadness.
I would not capture you - you don't need that extra weight.
But if I ease one ounce of heaviness, well, I think that would be just great!
I'd replace it with a smile in your heart, yours to do with what you will.
Need another? No problem, my friend, and I won't even send you a bill!
So if you help me face tomorrow by telling me what saddens you,
I will help you in your quest for life and love that is far too long overdue.
