I am having a problem playing dvd movies from computer to tv. I have a DVD drive on my computer, and none on the TV, but it's a drag to have the whole family clustered around the small computer screen. I bought a s-video cable, and it works fine, displaying the desktop on the tv. but when I try to play the movie, it displays a purple box. The DVD player controls show up, but no picture. I am using InterVideo WinDVD if that is any help.
It's a resolution problem. The TV is not able to show the content of a DVD because the resolution of your computer are too high for your TV to handle and process.
Just try to change the resolution of your computer screen.
That doesn't work. I changed the resolution first to 800x600, then to 600x400, and neither worked.
Try to disable monitor 2 by right clicking and unclick attached. then go back to monitor one and click Advanced. that is where you say show it on the TV.
Yeah, I did that. Still have the problem. What's with the huge green box?
I fixed it. What to do is go to the overlays tab and click on theater mode.
