Hi!
I have 5000 page views per day on my site. Is that enough to make some money? At least to pay my hosting. I would like to join an affiliate, but I dont know which is the best. How are they paying? Which program worth to be tryed?
Any suggestion would be great.
Thanks

You might only make enought to operate your site. I would not consider it a reliable income source. It is dependant upon the content of your site. Political sites have to be controversial and updated; It is work intensive; they have to spark an interest in an advertiser. Porn sites only have to show free pornogrphy, people will go there. Whether you can find a legitimate advertiser is another question. You havnt give much to work with.

What you are asking is: My site gets 5k hits a day, will it work? Cant say. But you can compare it with similar sites and their success. Is your site matter common? Does it work? How can you improve upon other sites that compare? You have to compete somehow.

Hits don't mean much. You need to know how many individuals are coming to your site each day. I have google ads on my website and am very pleased with them. They can be coordinated with a color scheme, placed anywhere on the page, and they are not intrusive.

Hits are how many pages, images, files, and whatnot are being viewed. You should look at visits to find out haw many people are coming.

nowie: Yes, no doubt. I'd recommend Google Adsense as they'll make sure you get advertising that is relevant to your site. Also, it works even better if you have a high pagerank (depends on the # of sites linking to yours).

I am also using adsense and have worked myself up to about 700 a month with them... I am getting about 5000-10000 "ad views" per day througout several sites. Add mucho content to your site and add the ads ... It's fun to build your revenue, too!

What does your site have on it to get 5000 hits a day? Also, if they stop at the home page, you know that they didn't like what they saw. I am currently working on perl scripts that log where and when a user went. They give a lot of data about what users like and dislike.

Honestly... 5,000 pageviews may SOUND like a lot, but it really doesn't mean a whole lot. How many of those pageviews was one person, etc.?
I have a website right now that gets 40,000 "pageviews" a day, and it's still not getting nearly as much traffic as I'd like... I probably get around 750-950 unique visitors a day on average.

Good point, Dabuek. Of several thousand, you might get only 14 individuals.
