offeroptimizer removal

I've been struggling with multiple offeroptimizer popups when I launch explorer. I followed the list of steps from Don77 with the exception of BitDefender which wouldn't load because I didn't have administrative access. Not sure if it matters or helps, but Spybot will find DSO Exploit every time I run it, but won't fix it.

Next reboot to safe mode ( By tapping the F8 key on start up) Make sure you can view all Hidden Files/Folders search for and delete the following in BOLD

C:\WINDOWS\localNRD.dll
C:\DOCUME~1\Nace\LOCALS~1\Temp\offerp01.exe <<Delete the folder

Next
Restart your computer

There was a glich in spybot, Go here for the final version with the DSO exploit fix.

Give it a run after checking for updates,
Restart your computer again
Restart HJT and post back a fresh log please,

I believe I finally corralled the dso exploit (it's hard to type with my fingers crossed...), IE is booting cleanly so far and I'll certainly let you know how it goes.

Next reboot to safe mode ( By tapping the F8 key on start up) Make sure you can view all Hidden Files/Folders search for and delete the following in BOLD

Next
Restart your computer
Check Ad-aware and Spybot for updates, Run them both and have them fix anything they find,
Restart your computer again,
Restart HJT
Post back a fresh log please

Hi Don -

Here is the latest HJT log. Couldn't find this C:\WINDOWS\system32\ztiexmfv.exe to delete. Also for info, I had been using Adaware6, I removed it and replaced it with AdawareSE and it found a bunch of stuff. Spybot was clean. Thanks again for all your help -

Download the following programs, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Download Spyware Blaster and SpywareGaurd

Check for updates after you install them, And check weekly as well

Keep Ad-aware and Spybot handy, Check them for updates and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,
Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well

Thanks again. I'm new to dealing with all this spyware/adware nonsense and your help was great. I'll download the recommended spyblocs and be even more careful about plugins and add ons. No exagerration - I picked up all this crap by trying to download ONE song from a site I wasn't familiar with. Lesson certainly learned...
