Searchweb2 toolbar - how do I remove this

Sorry first of all I'm a newcombe and as you can tell from my user name, I am totally and utterly clueless when it comes to anything remotely related to computers...

Lucky for me, I found the forum..

So here's my problem, I have this annoying searchweb toolbar, which keeps popping up, has made itself my home page upteen times, and keeps installing links on my desktop and my favourites/bookmarks...

It is really really annoying, but comforting to know I'm not suffering alone.. I've noticed quite a few others complaining of the same thing.

Sorry guys, I did post this on one of the earlier topics, but then read the rules .. hence the new post..

Basically, I've read everything and done the following:

1. updated Ad-aware
2. updated Spybot
3. initiated scans of both Spybot / Ad-aware (but it hasn't found anything)
4. ran a check on HJT
5. rebooted a couple of times in safe mode
6. removed all cookies/temporary files, etc..
7. uninstalled messenger plus (loved that prog.. but now hate it )
8. disabled system restore
9. completed norton antivirus scan (nothing was found)
10. checked files to be deleted and deleted one or two in accordance with earlier posts...

BUT.. it's still there.. and it's slowing everything up...
