Well JB - it depends what format the image is in and what image editing tool you've got.

Not knowing either I'll give you the general idea.

Save it as a jpeg (that will reduce TIFFs, BMPs, PSD etc by a factor of 10 easily).

If you're only going to show it on a computer screen you can change the resolution down to 75dpi or thereabouts.

Alternatively you could consider zipping it.

OK, for instance, I have a image of 1000kb, and i wanna upload it to the A2K gallery. But as you know in the gallery the limit of the images is 150kb.
what shall i do?
some detailed ideas?

IrfanView, a no-cost (donate-if-you-wish, and if you like the program, I think you really should donate a little something if you can), yuckware-free, small-footprint, extremely versatile, very easy-to-use graphic viewing/manipulation program will do all you're looking for there, and more. Download and install the core app and all the plugins, then read the documentation. The instructions are clear and concise and the interface is quite intuitive.

Good call Timber. I've been using Irfan for 4 years. It's the best.

Hingehead already gave you the best, easiest 2 steps you can take when he wrote:

You can use the free IrfanView to accomplish those tasks as Timber suggested, or since you already have ACDSee (which is eqivalent, & in my opinion superior...or at least version 3.1 is...i'm not sure how bloated v7.0 has become), you can follow its help files....

How do I resize an image in ACDSee 6?

How can I crop my images in ACDSee 6?

How do I convert an image to another file format in ACDSee?
